Wu Runzhong was on the phone when Lian Xinying sat across from him.
Her gaze, clear and lucid, fell upon her own fingers, her expression blank and spiritless.
It was impossible to guess what she was thinking, but she seemed utterly non-threatening.
Wu Runzhong sized her up as he made the call.
After dialing out, Wu Runzhong's smirk quickly turned to a frosty glare.
"What's going on? Why can't I get through to your mother's phone?!" Wu Runzhong, hearing the shutdown tone, felt anger flaring up inside him.
Could it be that Su Rong was still unaware of Lian Xinying's disappearance?
At the sound of Wu Runzhong's roaring, Lian Xinying finally raised her head.
She had no idea what was happening outside.
"My mom is taking care of Uncle Xu, and since Uncle Xu is a patient now, she might not carry her cell phone with her," Lian Xinying explained in a detached tone.
