Stars twinkle around the girl like a cloud of tiny shining jewels. They appear and disappear, growing dim and eventually winking out of existence only for new stars to appear elsewhere
The girl looks on unamused at the illusion
"She's not reacting"
"Try something else maybe it will work"
The maids and the nurse whispers with the illusionist
Unlike practically every fantasy isekai story out there, the servants in this world were near the bottom of the social ladder, so their clothing was restricted by their wealth and status there were also some sumptuary laws restricting how much fabric was allowed to make dresses for commoners . The fabrics were cheap and often homemade. For male servants, the typical outfit consisted of a tunic and stockings, with a leather belt and boots. Simple wool sweater and cap might also be worn during winters
Female servants wore loose, floor-length dresses, often with a tunic they also wore a simple head covering called a wimple.
None of your typical maid uniform at all
The girl they are discussing about is a week old baby whose name is Fae Ainhadt the fourth daughter of the Ainhardt family
Ainhadt, one of the strongest families that rules over the continent a family of mages who are known throughout the continent for their power
Magic is an important aspect of every mage that has ever lived, as it is their source of "magic power" which is used to cast magic spells. This energy is naturally existing and flowing in the environment and within everyone Individuals born with strong affinity for mana and with exceptional magic power are said to be "loved by mana". At the same time, people who do not possess any mana and are unable to use magic at all are an extremely rare occurrence and are said to be "hated by mana".
The family is split between a single direct line and multiple collateral lines that have split off from the main family over time. Only the descendants of the legal wife were recognized as the direct lineage of Ainhadt. Although collateral families were also "Ainhadt", that was only in name. Even so, it wasn't like collateral families were destitute. Although not comparable to the Main State in the Capital, the collateral families still lived lavishly.
Members of the direct line are often in contention for the seat of the family head. The children that do not manage to become the family head and decide to marry and have children have to leave the main estate once their child reaches the age of 5 and start their own collateral line.
The patriarch / matriarch of the family does not hold full authority over the family matters. Most decisions have to be addressed by the council which is made up of elders and members of the Ainhadt that have made a name for themselves.
The real name of the girl Fae Ainhadt is forgotten by her of the blurry memories of her past life she can remember only her in game nickame "jack trade"
Originally, she was an ordinary young girl with a hobby of playing games,
Until, she like millions around the globe started playing the new edge cutting open world Edge cutting video game "Epic fantasy online "
She had chosen the Mage class, not only because it's a range class, but it's also the easiest choice for beginners making it a safe option.
It was a good game overall. Based on a diverse skill and job class tree, the combat system was satisfying to play. Unlike most games the developers did not not provide any information about the game world's map and they were also inconsiderate enough not to supply any news about the game's areas, dungeons and monsters In a world like this, one had to investigate and discover things on their own. In fact, even the items that one could and could not use could only be felt out through repeated trial and error on the player's part. There were walkthrough sites and news sites, but those sites only hosted a compilation of publicly known information or very untrustworthy rumors. "Epic fantasy online" was a game of exploring the unknown. Thus, any information one uncovered would be very valuable. There was no merit in publishing this valuable information for any stranger to view free of charge
This led to all sorts of challenges apart from very few areas that required clearing specific quests to access the world was generally free and allowed skipping of side quests and cutscenes.
That meant if you took the wrong turn you can end up from the beginner village straight into a demon lord's lair
But there are endless discoveries (special classes, items, skills, ester eggs etc.) players could find and obtain through adventures
This made the game faster paced and she didn't feel bored.
Most of all, she enjoyed the numerous choices in the game that led to hundreds of different outcomes
There were equipment limitations based on attribute requirements instead of class limitations.
Boss battles and encounters with named mobs, in particular, were quite challenging.
She progressed through the game by choosing abilities and skills that suited his needs in each situation.
But unlike normal players she was one of those unconventional "explore everything" type running into place that even pro players would avoid or completing seemingly pointless quests
As a result she would gain several hidden or unique skill, items and even special "gifts "
One of which was the jack of trade gift which allowed her to have seventeen job slots
. The game had two types of levels: Racial and Class levels
The sum of these two levels together Would be counted as the overall level of the player
There were more than 200 races, including racial classes that needed certain levels of low-rank racial class to learn. Races could be roughly categorized into four taxa. Humanoid, demi-human , heteromorphic and divine races
Each player normally had only three racial slots and each however some races would evolve or unlocked racial skills when they reached certain levels for example a elf race can evolve into an high elf race at level 10 which will greatly boost the player's stats but will reset the new evolved racial class level to one
In short it is possible for a level 1 high elf to be much stronger than an elf at level 10
The class system was considered to be the key elements of character customization. Counting the advanced classes, as well as the based classes, there were more than 500 classes that players could choose from.
Although 10 was the highest level reachable in a single class, there were some high-rank classes that seemed to have lower level limits. Therefore, it was actually possible for a player to own at least 7 or more classes by the time they hit the overall level cap of 100. If one ignored efficiency, it was also possible to get a hundred level 1 classes. There were also some 'optimized' class builds discovered by players. In other words, it was a system where it was impossible to have completely identical characters unless you intentionally made them alike.
The maximum level a player could normally reach was 100
This gift meant that she could reach a maximum level of 200
Of course this is not counting the hidden job classes and other items within the game that could extend the level limit
Additionally, experimenting with different class can unlock a hidden class which could provide unique skills as opposed to gaining that same class by normal means
Among all players she held the highest amount of mage-related classes (9)
But there is a drawback all classes (racial and job) required experince points to level up and higher or more amount of the classes especially classes that are closely related means lower experience points gain which makes it harder to level up
This is mainly because of specific and general experience points
General experience points would be distributed equally among the classes
Specific experience points would only affect the related class
Supposed one had an alchemist and an apothecary job classes then the experience gained in making portions would be lower compared to doing it with only one job
She has so many mage related classes that levelling up is a struggle for her
This is a trashy character which requires thrice the amount of experience to level up
For now we shall leave our heroine who is suffering from depression from lack of anime manga, electronics and social media and see her back story in the next chapter
