"I'm afraid I can't M'lady."
Her words were like ice upon our backs. And for the guard literally. A cold breeze swept across the room.
"You were ordered. Leave." My voice must've been of the same cadence, that arrogant tone that demanded respect and obedience. Yet despite the great terror I inflicted upon her, including my own power weaved into my voice, she still stood.
Her legs shook with lost power, her eyes scanned the room like a retired soldier would their backyard after a particularly large boom. And her arm lowered to her sword.
"I'd suggest you take your hand off of that."
I smirked. The temperature of the room returned to normal, several gasps were taken, each searching for more air. But the object of her ire still stood shellshocked.
Invisible force hung over the soldier's head, pushing her down with all the fury of a rebuked woman. Celeste grinned. "Lest you give me a justification."
