I yawned. There wasn't much to it. I was bone dead exhausted, if only from all the business that I had to conduct earlier. The fight, the money, the betrayal. Each scene flickered through my eyes with such clarity. So much so that I found myself reliving them with such intensity that they felt oh' so real.
I shook my head and laid my back to the bed. For a moment the world just stilled like that, my own breath the only movement I could count. But then, moment after moment. Second after second. My breath shortened and deepened. Each taken until my eyes had closed and my consciousness flickered.
And after a short pull of the sheets and blankets, making sure that I was snuggled and warm. I took a final yawn and let myself fade into blissful sleep.
