My legs brushed lightly against the rough bark. I waited with my legs hanging over the edge of the tree for the girl to make her way back here. It was a miracle that the fight had gone my way.
I winced as I rotated my arm around its axis. It hurt quite bad. Only because I had taken such a risk and twisted it almost completely in the wrong way.
The hinge of my arm twisted in a way it shouldn't have - it gave me victory - but it also gave me constant aches that I tried to shrug off.
There came some success. But by the time the girl had finally made her way back here, skipping between the stains of blood by her feet. She leaped and found a comfortable seat by my side.
Her eyes stared at me with an intensity I hadn't seen before.
"So~" Charlotte's voice sang.
I rolled my eyes and leaned my back against the trunk of the tree. A moment of silence reigned only to be broken by my voice.
