I stood idle. Supplies. Even just a giant piece of paper and some pen would've done but… ah- Celeste didn't have a single one of those things. She had blushed and stammered about not needing them and then furiously ran out of the room to go and find us some.
And… well- here I was. Standing and waiting. I searched for a seat, found one and gazed out the window. Idly I watched as people passed. Some of them had confident smirks lit by whatever music their headphones played, others looked frantic, trying to find some distant location. Searching from their phone then to the streets and signs. And then there were the ordinary people, the vast majority who just went about their day, maybe stopping to enter a store or two.
"I'm back."
"Welcome back."
Our voices echoed at the same time. Mine to welcome her and hers to announce her arrival. She stood next to me, her body vibrating in place. I held my hand in askance.
"Oh- Yeah here."
