I woke up. It wasn't by any means of my own, not by the sun giving warmth to my body, nor was it some natural habit that spoke of satisfied sleep. It was the hand that wrapped around my face and sprayed a handful of snow onto it.
Spitting out the ice I turned my glare to Jade. She smiled and whistled innocently. Hah- I sighed. The battle had been wrought. The people able to resist were culled. And any army that might be able to gather a resistance were scared into running.
"I made sure of it."
I guess I could take Jade's word for what it was. She had spent all that energy and mana on creating a final battlefield that helped to waste the energy and lives of those who attacked me. Celeste had also vouched for Jade, as worrying as that was. I guess… guess that I should let them have that.
