There wasn't much to do. My chin rested over my fist, I had stopped here for the day as the sun had fallen into the horizon. The moon once more bloomed with silver light and here I sat, amongst a great slaughter. With blood dripping from my side, some mine and more others.
I felt a sort of melancholic longing for the day, the bright light that shone over my deeds. It wasn't in pride, nor was it in simple enjoyment. The light highlighted the atrocities I committed. For they were atrocities, a slaughter so great and indiscriminate. Worse than a war, for even in war there were rules. And if this slaughter had any… then they would simply be indiscriminate.
I sat in my chair- No, it was more a throne, and for a moment just let the cold air waft over the scarf I wore. My hair flapped freely in the wind. "Don't worry. We- we did the right thing…"
