The journey back home was as peaceful as the one to the Han residence. Kizaer slowly made his way back to his abode.
After receiving one of Mayare's customary morning visits, during which she always brought him some fruits, Kizaer proudly displayed the wounds on his body, recounting his adventure like a warrior returning from a battlefield. "And there's this one, Aunt Mayare. It happened when I took down the monkey that attacked me from the left!"
Kizaer grinned as he narrated his own exploits. Mayare, in turn, listened attentively to the tales of the boy she had watched grow up, developing a certain fondness for him.
At a certain point, Mayare remarked, "My dear Kizaer, there's something different about you." She approached him and gently stroked his hair. For a few moments, Mayare's gaze made Kizaer feel like he was looking at an entirely different person from the Mayare he had known since childhood.
