A hired guard stood in front of a humble thatched house in one of the poorest parts of the southern district. The local air wasn't pleasant; the houses in that area were quite rudimentary, and most of the inhabitants lacked access to basic necessities.
Despite the unpleasant odor, the guard made an effort to pretend he didn't notice. After all, he didn't want to offend the homeowner while waiting to be attended to.
The hired guard had arrived a few minutes earlier and called out for the owner of the residence. "Senior Bandolen, with all due respect, I am Hyung, a member of the Grand Han Emporium's guard force. Lord Feng Han asked me to come here in an attempt to contact you." The guard spoke with a moderate tone and offered a respectful fist-and-hand salute. "I hope I'm not disturbing you, Senior."
