This was a breakthrough indeed, Yuto and the Director both think over the facts they have heard from the experiment.
'So shadows retain memory or even just a tiny portion is left when they turn, depending on how they are a shadow they could possibly be reminded of their humanity and potentially take back control, that's to assume the corruption stops after that point, the body will still experience change into a shadow...'

Hari responded to Yuto's question before he could even ask it, they had the first same idea to try but Hari shut down the hope of it working
'She didn't even let me finish... Ok so that doesn't work, so what would? What if we were to cut off the limb which is corrupted before it spreads into any other vital parts of the body, that way the person can at least have a chance to survive despite having to lose a limb'
Yuto was prepared to ask Hari the second option he thought of
"Cutting off limbs before the corruption spreads is an option...?"
Hari laughed at the face of this question
"Do you think that would actually work? In theory yes it would and I have seen cases of people doing and having a happy life after, but think about it this way, If we were to teach everyone to cut off their limbs anytime they got attacked by a shadow it would cause the population of useful people to plummet, people without a limb wouldn't be able to hunt or gather or build anything, I doubt many people would risk a limb anyway"
She looked over at Liu Fang
"Hari is right, I have studied people who have been corrupted and those who cut their limbs off, I asked the corrupted people why didn't they think about cutting the limb off and living longer, the replies were mostly split into two, the first being," I wouldn't ever cut a limb, it's better to die painless then risk dying in pain" and the other being, "I was never aware of the corruption as we both know that the first signs aren't very noticeable until you see yourself slowly getting dark but it's already too late" Does that answer your question Yuto?"
Yuto is being backed into a corner with his ideas being already tested and rejected by both a scientist and psychological expert, he needs to keep trying something until it might have even a 0.01% chance of success, nothing added up in his mind for another couple minutes until

Liu Fang being as calm as a river stream not being affected by the loud sound, Frustration was seen in Yuto's face and his every move, nothing is working out for him and now they are telling him that he's humanities chance to fix things, it didn't make sense to him
"I can't save humanity, I can't even save the people at my own orphanage, THERE WAS 6 OF US, now look at our group and tell me where the other two people have gone? Can you answer that you bitch"
The director went up to Yuto and slapped him, reminding him to watch his words in front of adults, He wasn't with happy with how they called Yuto the last hope as this is a huge burden on him now, but that didn't excuse Yuto to speak that way to someone who just gave them a house and a place to stay
"Tao, leave him be, I wouldn't take this lightly either, Yuto you are now dismissed for today, please enjoy what you have been given and we will try over again the next day, think about today and finally decide what you will do"
Yuto storms off back out the lab going through many gates to exit and back into the house given to him, he went straight on the couch and lied down soaking in tears of what has happened, he couldn't process his emotions and couldn't believe the burden placed on him now, this was definitely too much for a child like Yuto who just went through a massacre.
"Hey Yuto, it's me kenzo"
Kenzo sat beside his laying body on the couch and was there prepared to help him out like a good buddy would
"No matter what went down, I will stay with you"
"Shut up Kenzo, you don't understand, they expect me to be some hope of humanity, they think they can run tests on me and because of me breaking their scanner which detects corruption will somehow be a cure or something, I had a connection with shadows but I only told the director, dreams and illusions are being shown to me in the perspective of shadows and now it's lead to this"
"Listen Yuto, even if that's true, It won't change how I feel about you, the director also doesn't want to change the way he looks at you, were all here and we're here to help, especially me like wow, I'm going to school with you now, I was worried about it so I decided what better way to get rid of my fear and protect then to join you in the same class"

Yuto cries and flood the couch in tears which soak into the material, he needed someone to be there this one time which didn't see him as a person who can save everyone just yet, Kenzo being there eased his feelings and worries thinking that he still is like everyone else,
Yuto wanted to just be normal some more before knowing that his connections with the shadows will change a lot later on, He gets up from the couch and hugs Kenzo in a way which was light hearted and very noticeable to see how much help he has felt from him.
