Chapter 195: Regarding the Sacrifice Ritual
Alice was taken aback when she heard this question. Truthfully, she had never considered the possibility of making a sacrifice to Amon. It wasn't a matter of whether Amon would accept it or not, but rather... how was this any different from seeking death?
Thinking about it, she wondered aloud, "Can a person even jump into the sacrifice channel?"
Amon glanced at Alice coldly and asked, "Shall I throw you in to find out?"
Alice shook her head rapidly, afraid that a moment's delay might result in her being tossed into the sacrifice channel. She spoke quickly:
"No, no need, thank you. There are two main reasons why I don't use the sacrifice ritual. One is that I don't know what herbs or essential oils you might be interested in..."
She paused, glancing at Amon, who was now looking at her directly, waiting to hear the second reason. Alice hesitated before answering with complete honesty:
"I'm afraid."
This answer couldn't have been more candid. Amon looked Alice up and down, then raised an eyebrow and asked, "Afraid?"
Alice nodded sincerely.
Amon asked with slight surprise, "Then why did you send me that painting? And write such a provocative letter?"
After a moment of silence, Alice furrowed her brow and asked, "Isn't that precisely why I'm afraid to send anything now?"
"Ahem," Amon cleared his throat, betraying a hint of amusement. "But logically... whether last time or this time, the questions you've asked me face-to-face, aren't they all more irritating than that painting?"
Alice fell into deep thought.
Before she could respond, Amon's tone suddenly became intimate again: "Especially... you even dared to mock me just now? You're quite bold, little Alice."
Alice shuddered in fear and looked at Amon seriously, saying, "Could you please not call me that?"
"Why not?" Amon asked casually.
Alice thought for a moment, then looked up and said in an exaggeratedly sweet tone, "Oh, great Time Angel~"
Amon frowned and asked, "Why do I feel like you're insulting me?"
Alice pondered before replying, "You can be more confident."
Amon looked at her in confusion.
Alice added, "You can remove the 'feel like' part."
Amon furrowed his brow in thought, "...I think we might have different understandings of certain words."
"Do we?" Alice blinked at Amon innocently.
"Never mind," Amon shook his head. "Actually, I think no matter how you set up the sacrifice ritual for me, I would want to take a look at what you've sent."
Alice sat up straight.
Amon looked at her and continued, "However, if I don't like the offering you send..."
He didn't finish the sentence, but Alice didn't want to hear the consequences - it was obvious nothing good would come of it! She swallowed and tentatively asked, "Time Angel, do you... have any other business?"
She actually wanted to ask when Amon was leaving, but she didn't dare.
"No," Amon replied naturally, disappointing Alice. He played with his monocle and said, "What, are you so eager to get rid of me?"
Alice looked at the monocle, lost in thought. She looked at Amon and tentatively asked, "May I ask you a question?"
Amon glanced at Alice, and the answer on the tip of his tongue suddenly changed: "If it's about the 108 reincarnations, don't bother asking."
"No," Alice shook her head, staring at Amon's attire and explained, "I wanted to ask... don't you have any change of clothes?"
Amon looked at Alice, pondered for two seconds, and gave the same evaluation as before: "You really are quite human-like."
Alice, stung for the third time, glared fiercely at the smiling Amon, which only made him smile more broadly.
After a moment of thought, Alice suddenly remembered something and said to Amon, "Wait a moment, I'll go get something."
Seeing Amon nod, Alice jumped off the sofa and ran to the study, retrieving the bottle she had been constantly moving around.
Looking at the bottle with her angry curses written on it, Amon fell into an odd silence. Finally, he gave a brief comment: "Very creative."
He pocketed the bottle for reasons unknown, then pushed the monocle towards Alice and sighed, asking, "Can't you advance faster?"
Alice hesitantly picked up the monocle, raising her head in confusion.
Amon looked at Alice with frustration and replied, "I'm always worried I might accidentally kill you..."
Alice opened her mouth, then closed it again. After organizing her thoughts, she sincerely suggested, "I know someone who's not so easy to kill. Would you like to try?"
Amon sat up a little straighter.
Alice smiled gently and asked, "Do you remember Will Auceptin?"
"You want me to help you kill him?" Amon laughed.
"No," Alice shook her head, "Please make sure he stays alive."
"Oh?" Amon became slightly more interested.
"Actually, what I wanted to say was..." Alice revealed a mischievous smile, "Have you ever tried... putting something in ice cream that shouldn't be there?"
Remembering the strangely made coffee, Amon asked, "Put what? Besides, that's easily discovered."
"Are you that useless?" Alice's eyes widened.
"...What should I put?" Amon, understanding Alice's implication, had to admit that this provocation worked.
"Could you put chili peppers in his ice cream?" Alice blinked innocently, "Preferably looking normal, but full of chili peppers when you bite into it..."
Amon fell into contemplation.
Alice pinned the monocle to her right eye and said solemnly, "Let's set up an ice cream stand in front of his house!"
"I have a question," Amon asked with some confusion, "How does this benefit either of us?"
"It's fun," Alice gave a perfectly reasonable answer.
"Alice," Amon called her name with an indecipherable tone, "Actually, you could ask me to kill him for you."
"Would you agree?" Alice asked curiously.
"Hmm..." Amon glanced at Alice and chuckled, "I think you probably have ways to persuade me."
