Chapter 44: The Possibility of Resurrection

Alger asked more cautiously, "Honorable Mr. Fool, what do I need to do?"

Alice quietly pricked up her ears. After all, she couldn't wait until she needed to use it to learn, could she?

Klein pressed his right hand lightly and said:

"I've said, this is just an attempt, it may not succeed, so I need your cooperation.

"First, prepare an altar. It doesn't need to be too complicated; it can be very simple. The only requirement is to engrave or draw this symbol."

Alice looked up, and a light screen appeared in front of Klein, showing the pattern on the back of Klein's chair.

Looking at that pattern, Alice suddenly remembered her and Klein's resurrection, and how Mr. Azik and the Goddess had no unusual reaction to it... Perhaps, for higher beings, resurrection is not a big deal.

This realization flashed through Alice's mind. She recalled her state when she first woke up in a strange body and suddenly had a chilling thought: Who said resurrection must be in one's own body?

Alice shivered and forced herself to focus on Klein's next words: "If you forget, you can pray to me, and you will 'remember' it."

Even if I guessed it, so what? Can I avoid the consequences I guessed by staying in the current sequence and not advancing? No, the potion for the next sequence will fall from the sky and be poured directly into my mouth...

Alice listened expressionlessly as Audrey and Alger agreed to Klein's words, and then Klein continued to describe:

"Secondly, follow the normal process, but you don't need to burn herbs, apply holy oil, or choose a specific time. Just recite my name.

"Remember, recite in Ancient Hermes or Giant language, and use the following prayer phrases:

"Your faithful servant prays for your gaze;

"Prays for you to accept his offering;

"Prays for you to open the gates of the kingdom.

"After reciting, combine the spiritual materials with the natural force vibrations caused by the incantation and wait for my response.

"If this step fails, replace the spiritual materials with extraordinary materials and try again from the beginning."

Alice's thoughts gradually calmed down in Klein's description, then started to wander again: In this way, wouldn't it expose the fact that Mr. Fool has no followers... Hmm, what is "The Hanged Man" imagining? He seems completely convinced, I really want to know...

After agreeing on the ritual time with Alger, Klein said to Audrey, "After Mr. 'The Hanged Man's' attempt succeeds, I will tell you the ritual for requesting a boon."

If monetary transactions were handled this way, could I let others sacrifice the money and not request a boon, treating this place as a bank...

This thought flashed through Alice's mind. She looked at Audrey and Alger: "I want to exchange the previous information for money. Also, you don't need to look for information on the 'School of Life' and 'Monster' pathway Beyonders anymore."

"You've met that 'Monster' pathway Beyonder?" Alger asked.

"Yes," Alice nodded slightly, looking at Alger, "300 pounds for the 'Shepherd' information."

Alger frowned but still nodded, "How should I give you the money?"

"No rush," Alice tapped her fingers on the table, "If the sacrificial ritual succeeds, you can sacrifice the money to Mr. Fool. If not, I'll give you an account at the next gathering."

Then, Alice looked at Audrey: "1300 pounds, 1000 of which is for the previous secret organization information—you won't favor one over the other, will you, Miss 'Justice'?"

This was not a big burden for Audrey, and she readily agreed: "If Mr. 'The Hanged Man's' attempt succeeds, I'll give you the money."

Alice then turned to Alger: "Mr. 'The Hanged Man,' there's one thing, would you satisfy my curiosity? Hmm, I can exchange it for another piece of information."

"What?" Alger asked.

"How did Qilangosdie?" Alice inquired.

Audrey, hearing this, also raised her hand curiously: "I want to know too! Uh..."

Without any information to exchange, Audrey began to wonder if it was worth spending money to satisfy her curiosity, while Alger casually replied, "It was handled by Mr. Fool's follower. I believe Mr. Fool's follower should know more about the situation."

Alice thought of Mr. Azik, whom Klein called a teacher—he seemed very experienced with resurrection. Could that mysterious follower be him? But, dealing with "The Hanged Man" is more important now...

"I forgot to ask, you should know too, right?" Alice blinked twice.

Forgot to ask? Is she referring to Mr. Fool or Mr. Fool's follower? Alger was suddenly startled. He looked at Klein, who was sitting at the head of the long table, but Mr. Fool, hidden in the thick gray fog, did not comment.

"I see," Alger collected his thoughts and said solemnly, "This is not a secret. I can tell you now."

Alice and Audrey then posed as if listening intently.

"During our pursuit, Mr. Fool's follower, a high-sequence powerhouse of the 'Death' pathway, took action. Qilangosrotted away without any resistance during his escape." Alger described dryly.

"Death" pathway... rotted away without any resistance... Alice, who had just fought a mid-sequence Beyonder of the "Death" pathway, fell silent. She couldn't help but wonder if she could still be resurrected if she rotted... Uh, it should be possible, right? She's not in the same situation as Klein, is she?

"This is really..." Audrey was organizing her words, seemingly trying to find a suitable adjective.

"Miss 'Justice,' would you like to hear something more interesting?" Alice raised an eyebrow, "And Mr. 'The Hanged Man' and Mr. 'The Sun'... Hmm, I think my information is more interesting than Mr. 'The Hanged Man's.'"

Interesting... Alice's choice of words gave Alger and Audrey a bad feeling, but Alger still spoke in a deep voice, "What information?"

"The offspring of that fallen creator is dead," Alice replied cheerfully.

"This... what's interesting about that?" Audrey, who was prepared to hear another horror story, was a bit confused.
