Chapter 27: Tarot Club's
Next is Mr. Fool's reading time.
Alger and Audrey naturally noticed that during this period, Alice had been looking at Derrick with eyes full of amazement and curiosity.
Does she know where Derrick comes from? Is that what she asked? They guessed in unison.
In the tacit silence of the crowd, Klein finished reading the diary and said with a smile, "Actually, you don't have to wait for me."
"It is our honor," Alger said humbly.
Audrey thought for a moment, then smiled lightly and said, "Mr. Fool, the method you described earlier for selecting officials through public exams has been approved by the King and the Prime Minister. It will soon pass in both the Upper and Lower Houses and is expected to be officially implemented early next year."
"It seems the King and the Prime Minister still have brains," Alger's sarcasm made Alice glance at him, as it sounded like this gentleman's real-life situation was not very pleasant.
Klein, who had successfully secured a job opportunity for Benson, smiled and nodded. Audrey straightened her already straight back and smiled at Alger, "Mr. Hanged Man, I have received the answer to the matter you asked me to confirm. The King has been persuaded by the Prime Minister and will not retaliate against the Feysac Empire on the Bayam coast in the short term. I think you should pay the promised extra reward."
It sounded like Miss Justice didn't think this was information that needed to be kept from others—Alice, who was sitting in the audience with Little Sun, thought so.
Next, Audrey naturally asked for clues about the Psychology Alchemists or the main ingredients of the "Mind Reader" potion as compensation. After Alger agreed, the transaction was completed.
Alice successfully saw that Derrick had been confused throughout the conversation, looking completely ignorant of the outside world.
Having achieved her expected goal, Audrey intended to remain quiet but suddenly remembered something she had encountered and spoke again, "I recently came into contact with some circles of Beyonders and learned about a strong individual called Mr. V. Mr. Fool, Mr. Hanged Man, Mr. Sun, Miss Destiny, do you know his background and true identity?"
Derrick, who couldn't understand at all, remained silent.
Alice looked at Audrey with a strange expression and replied, "You know, I've already heard of a Mr. A and a Mr. Z. I didn't expect you to meet a Mr. V."
The Hanged Man, who was about to speak, fell silent upon hearing this. Audrey then asked, "Miss Destiny, are you saying that this Mr. V and the Mr. A and Mr. Z you mentioned are from the same organization?"
Alice explained:
"I'm not sure. I know Mr. A and Mr. Z are from the Aurora Order. The Aurora Order has five Saints and twenty-two Messengers of God, who are codenamed with letters. Their strength ranges from Sequence 7 to Sequence 5, and they are quite adept at hiding themselves. Each time one dies, a new replacement emerges.
"But I can't be sure that the Mr. V you mentioned is the Mr. V from the Aurora Order. I can only tell you that this possibility is very high. You'd better be careful with that Mr. V.
"By the way, this information comes from the Church of the Lord of Storms. As far as I know, the Aurora Order has always been targeting the Church of the Lord of Storms, the Church of the Eternal Blazing Sun, and the Church of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom."
Information from the Church of the Lord of Storms? Alger couldn't help but frown. He subconsciously began to consider Alice's relationship with the Church of the Lord of Storms, but he would never have thought that this information had actually passed through the Church of the Goddess of the Night...
Upon hearing this, Audrey silently raised her vigilance in her heart and thanked Alice, "Thank you for your answer, Miss Destiny. Do you need any compensation?"
"You know what I want," Alice shrugged, "but it seems that information about the Life School or Beyonders of the 'Monster' pathway is not easy to find?"
Audrey smiled apologetically, and Alger took the opportunity to interject, "I encountered a Beyonder of the 'Monster' pathway at sea."
Alice's eyes lit up but quickly dimmed again, "What do you need... oh wait, he's at sea. Even if I have his information, I can't go see him."
"You need to see him?" Alger was puzzled. He thought Alice was looking for clues for advancement.
"To be precise, I need him to see me," Alice leaned back in her chair, "I need to know what a Beyonder of the 'Monster' pathway can see in my fate."
Alger pondered and spoke with some uncertainty, "He is temporarily on my ship due to a shipwreck..."
He didn't finish his sentence, but Alice understood his meaning—if Alice didn't mind exposing her identity, her request could still be fulfilled. However, Alice's problem was not that simple. As a Night Watcher, Alice couldn't leave Tingen City.
"How about this, Mr. Hanged Man," Alice sighed regretfully, "I hope you can obtain his address or similar information... is that okay?"
"I will try," Alger accepted this method, thinking that if soft methods didn't work, he would use hard ones. He responded, "I hope to use this to replace the compensation Miss Justice owes you. If I can't find the information you need, I will continue to search or consider other compensations."
Alice agreed, so Audrey asked, "Then, Mr. Hanged Man, what do you need me to pay?"
"I hope to exchange this and more additional compensation for your help with a task," Alger said solemnly.
"What task?" Audrey asked in confusion.
Alger stated his request, "I received information that the notorious pirate admiral, Qilangos, has secretly landed and infiltrated Backlund. I don't know what he intends to do. I hope you can help me find his whereabouts. As for the subsequent matters, you don't need to take any risks."
"Pirate Admiral Qilangos? One of the seven pirate generals?" Audrey's eyes widened.
"Pirate general?" Alice asked in confusion, as she lacked knowledge about the sea since she had been in Tingen City since waking up.
"Yes, he is also a Sequence 6 Beyonder of the 'Sailor' pathway, 'Wind-blessed,' and possesses a magical item, which can also be called a sealed artifact. He is quite cunning and ruthless. Do not try to confront him," Alger introduced solemnly.
At this point, he suddenly turned his head and looked at Klein, "Mr. Fool, may I request your Blessed to provide assistance at critical moments? I will pay a price that interests you."
