The ground trembled beneath the demon's roar, a deep vibration that seemed to shake through every part of me. I gritted my teeth, forcing my shaky body into a fighting stance. Around me, the other students had retreated, fear on their faces.
Most of them weren't prepared to handle demons, let alone these monstrous ones, twisted and mutated beyond anything we'd seen before.
Ciara took a step forward, her purple flames flickering menacingly around her, casting a dark glow against the swarm of demons. She glanced over her shoulder at me, her gaze intense and calculating.
"Eileen," she barked, her voice cutting through the chaos, "don't let your guard down, even for a second. These demons are no joke. Focus."
I nodded, steadying myself, even as I felt the ache of exhaustion pull at my limbs. I couldn't back down now. I summoned my own blue flames, coaxing them into existence with what little strength I had left.
