After Zaya and Cassandra left in a whirlwind of chaos, the room felt oddly quiet. Eileen and I exchanged a glance, still processing the insanity of what had just happened.
I could tell from her expression that she was just as amused as I was, but we both knew better than to get involved in Zaya's relationship dramas especially when Cassandra was in that kind of mood.
Stretching, Eileen pushed the covers off and sat up, rubbing her eyes. "Well, that was... eventful," she said, glancing at the clock on the nightstand. "But I need to do my morning walk."
"You're really going to stick to that routine after all this?" I teased, resting back against the pillows, watching her as she stood and stretched again, her toned muscles flexing beneath her skin.
"Yup," she replied with a smile. "Even if the world is on fire, I still do my 5 km walk. Keeps me sane." She grabbed her phone and earbuds from the bedside table, pulling her hair into a loose ponytail.
