The laughter finally began to subside, though the bizarre scene of a naked woman fleeing into the woods still had some students wiping tears from their eyes. Lise and I exchanged a look, her amusement fading into something more serious.
"We can't just let her run off like that," Lise said, her voice returning to its usual composed tone. "Who knows what else is lurking in this forest."
"You're right," I agreed, still feeling the warmth of embarrassment in my cheeks. "Let's go after her and make sure she doesn't get into more trouble."
With that, Lise and I headed into the forest, following the path the woman had taken. The other students were still milling around the clearing, unsure of what to do after the professor's hasty departure. We figured they would be safe for the moment, considering most of the monsters had scattered after the chaos.
