Waking up in a desert is not the way I imagined starting my day. The first thing I felt was the heat, pressing down on me like a heavy blanket. The second thing I noticed was that I was completely and utterly alone. I got up and dusted off the sand clinging to my clothes.
As I looked around, the vast expanse of nothingness stretched out in all directions. It seemed endless, with only the occasional, pathetic shrub breaking the monotony.
I had been fleeing demon guards the last time I checked, and now here I was, stranded in the middle of a desert. This was just fantastic. I sighed deeply, already feeling the effects of the sun beating down on me.
"Great," I muttered to myself, wiping the sweat off my brow. "Lost in a desert with no food, no water, and no clue where the hell I am."
