Weilan's face turned the color of a fiery red cloud, extending all the way to her earlobes, and her delicate little face was flushed with embarrassment.
She turned her face away, not looking at him, but at the wallpaper patterns on the wall, then to the ceiling and the chandelier.
He waited, his hand placed where it shouldn't be.
She stiffened, murmuring awkwardly in a low voice, "If you've been waiting so long, why are you still dawdling?"
He paused, then suddenly a smile played across his lips.
She also raised her eyes to meet his.
His eyelashes lowered slightly, his eyes deep like black obsidian as he looked at her, his gaze filled with earnestness and his expression immensely focused. The corner of his lips traced a shallow arc.
