Past midnight.
The Lu Family was already in complete silence.
Weilan's phone vibrated on the bedside table.
The sound was loud, startling Shen Weilan, who reached out from under the covers, picked it up, and checked the caller display.
The number belonged to Lu Hechen.
Weilan took the phone under the covers, covered her head and answered the call.
"Hello," Weilan whispered.
"Have you gone to sleep?" Lu Hechen's deep voice came from the other end, sounding as if it was right beside her ear, magnetic through the radio waves.
Shen Weilan's body trembled, her breathing also involuntarily quivering as she replied with a trembling voice, "Not yet!"
"It seems my call didn't disturb you," Lu Hechen said.
"No!" Weilan switched hands, curling up under the quilt and whispered, "Why haven't you slept yet?"
"Can't sleep," Lu Hechen said.
"Why?" Weilan subconsciously asked back, "Do you have insomnia?"
