Lu Yuanhe: "..."
Weilan: "You have been scheming against me and still want to continue doing so. At least, I feel that as long as the scheming goes on, I can't possibly be courteous. I have already lost my manners, and I don't wish to lose my honesty as well. Losing too much leads to numbness, and I'm afraid I'd no longer seem human. Just getting by, insensitive, until I truly become inhuman."
Startled, Lu Yuanhe realized that Weilan was trying to intimidate him with her words.
This girl, so articulate and sharp, had become quite formidable indeed.
"You're overthinking it," said Lu Yuanhe.
"I hope I am," Weilan replied solemnly, "Regarding Lu Heyan's issue, what do you plan to do about it?"
Lu Yuanhe recognized that his eldest daughter-in-law was not easy to control.
He hesitated before asking, "What would you like to do?"
"Isn't it obvious? Weilan should marry Heyan; isn't that the best outcome?" Qin Meifen chimed in matter-of-factly.
