Lu Hechen's eyes flashed with a hint of light, and he chuckled before saying, "It was indeed a last-minute decision. I ran into Mrs. Lu at school today. It's been a long time since I've seen Hechen; I came to check on him. Has he not returned yet?"
As he spoke, his gaze fell upon Qin Meifen's face.
Qin Meifen's expression became a bit stiff.
"Uh, he hasn't returned yet, it will still be a while," Qin Meifen said.
Weilan had already come downstairs, wondering to herself. He was clearly Lu Hechen himself, yet he asked such a knowingly redundant question—it was quite something.
All she could do was go along with the act, "Didn't I just tell Mr. Mu at noon? Brother Hechen won't be coming back for the time being."
"Oh, is that so?" Lu Hechen smiled and said, "Then you must miss him a lot? It's been many days, and leaving such a delicate wife at home while he's on a business trip doesn't seem too kind."
Qin Meifen gave an awkward smile, not knowing how to respond.
