Chapter 1 - King of Denver

High screams echoed from the dungeon as a man was being locked up for speaking against the king. The guards threw him into the cell and chained him down as the man struggled and begged for mercy. "Please! Please tell the king that I would never speak against him again. My family needs me. I can't be locked up please. Beg the King on my behalf!" The man said as he lunged towards the cell door but was pulled back by the chains that were pinned to the wall. This action was futile as it fell to ears that were not willing to hear what he had to say. The guards walked away as the man continued screaming and begging for mercy.

The guards finally got out of the dungeon and bowed down to their king. "He is locked up well my King" one of them said after raising his head to look up at the King of Denver. "Good. He'll be an example to others not to speak against the king" came the deep voice of the King of Denver. "You can go" he said dismissing the guards as he continued his early morning stroll around the castle with his right hand man a step behind him.

"My King, I apologise for saying this but don't you think you were too harsh? I mean, he only retorted to the order you gave him" his right hand man said.

"You know if it were someone else I would have snapped their head off right this moment. But it's you" the king said as he turned slightly to get a glimpse of Benjamin.

"Benjamin, no one goes against my orders. He's the first and I have to teach him a lesson so others won't make the same mistake" the king said as he stopped walking and so did his right hand man. The king was quiet for a moment before asking "Do you think what I did was wrong Benjamin?" He wanted to know if his loyal subject was still loyal to him. "Of course not my king. You always make the right decision" Benjamin said quickly as they continued their walk around the castle quietly.

"The sun is yet to be up my king. The moment it rises, the council members will be here for the meeting about the recent thefts in the villages" Benjamin said and the king's demeanor changed and he sighed. "I didn't plan on seeing those men this early in the morning but oh well, let's head back inside" Sebastian said as they both walked back inside.
