Alsen tried to step back, but his feet felt heavy, as if rooted to the spot. The man's eyes seemed to bore into his soul, and Alsen knew he had to think fast.
"I...I don't know what you're talking about," he stammered again, trying to sound convincing.
Karma's expression twisted into a sneer. "Don't lie to me, Alsen," he spat. "I have proof. And if you don't tell me where Keill is, things will get very ugly, very quickly."
Alsen's heart sank. What proof could Karma possibly have? And what did he plan to do with Keill? He knew he had to stall for time, but his mind was a blank.
Karma took a step closer, his eyes glinting with a sinister light. Alsen could feel his breath on his face, and he tried not to flinch.
"You're running out of time, Alsen," the man hissed. "Tell me where Keill is, or you'll suffer the consequences."
