As they walked, Arthur's eyes scanned the crowds of people on the street, his pace quickening.
Cara struggled to keep up, his senses on high alert. They turned down a narrow alleyway, the walls looking above them.
Suddenly, Arthur stopped, his head cocked to one side.
"Do you hear that?" He whispered.
Cara listened, and soon he heard it too. The sound of footsteps echoing off the walls growing louder with every passing second.
The footsteps stopped at the entrance of the alleyway, and a figure loomed in the shadows. Cara's heart raced as Arthur pushed him behind him, his eyes fixed on the stranger.
For a moment, no one moved. The only sound heavy in the air was the breathing of the unknown figure. The n slowly, it stepped forward, it's features illuminated by the faint light.
Cara's eyes widened as he saw Alsen's face, his eye blackened by bruises and his skin pale and clammy.
