At night, around half-past eight, Pei Yibai finally came home.
Outside, torrential rain was pouring down, and he had been stuck in traffic for a solid hour, with his phone out of battery—he was a bit anxious and restless in the car.
He wanted to make a call home, but it was impossible.
All he could do was sit in the driver's seat, waiting like a snail to make his way back to the Pei Family home.
There was an additional stretch limousine in the garage.
This was his father's car, so, had he returned?
Pei Yibai parked his car and entered the house through the side door.
The rain outside was falling in torrents, whereas inside it was eerily quiet.
He walked through the hallway to the living room but didn't see Song Weiyi.
Neither did he see his mother.
Pei Yibai frowned.
A servant appeared and, upon seeing him, exclaimed in surprise, "Eldest Young Master."
"Hmm."
Pei Yibai nodded his head.
He didn't think much of it.
