With the leader of the organization in custody, Leo and his team prepared for the interrogation. They had secured the outpost, but there were still too many unknowns about the organization's structure, allies, and ultimate objectives.
The interrogation room was dimly lit, with only a single overhead light illuminating the leader's face. He sat cuffed to a heavy chair, his mechanical arm rendered inert by a power dampener. His expression was defiant, even in defeat.
Marcus entered with Sofia and Leo. "Let's make this simple," Marcus said, pulling up a chair opposite the leader. "Tell us where the rest of your people are hiding, and we can make this easier on you."
The leader chuckled, his voice cold and mocking. "You think capturing me changes anything? There are others who share our cause. You can't stop what's coming."
Leo's patience was wearing thin. "Your cause? Is it worth the lives you've taken? The chaos you've caused?"
The leader shrugged, his eyes glinting with malice. "Power is worth any cost. The Reclaimers are blind to the truth. We aim to open their eyes."
Sofia leaned in, her voice firm. "What truth? What do you know that we don't?"
The leader smirked. "You'll find out soon enough. But it won't matter. You can't stop what's already in motion."
The conversation was going nowhere. Marcus signaled for a break, and the team stepped outside the interrogation room to discuss their strategy.
"He doesn't seem inclined to cooperate," Sofia said, crossing her arms. "We need another approach."
Owen joined them, holding a tablet with data he'd collected from the command room. "I've been analyzing the leader's communication logs. He was in contact with someone known as 'The Arbiter.' I think this Arbiter is calling the shots for the organization."
Leo nodded. "So we need to find this Arbiter. Any leads on where they might be?"
Owen shook his head. "Not yet. The communication logs were encrypted, and I'm still working on cracking them. But there's something else. The leader mentioned 'The Great Awakening' in one of his messages. It could be a code name for a plan or an event."
Marcus looked concerned. "If they have some grand plan, we need to know what it is. We can't afford to be blindsided."
Leo agreed. The organization had proven to be resourceful and dangerous. If they were planning something on a large scale, it could spell disaster for the Reclaimers and their world.
"We need to stay ahead of them," Leo said. "Owen, keep working on those logs. Sofia, let's focus on gathering intel from other sources. Maybe some of the captured organization members will talk."
The team split up to carry out their tasks. Leo stayed behind to monitor the interrogation, hoping the leader might reveal something useful. He knew they were running out of time—the organization's next move could come at any moment.
