Ancient gods might actually exist within the collective psychic power amalgam of Spirit Realm.
But this thing before us isn't one.
This was a shadow world of the Mental World that Lin An had never encountered before, an entity born from a completely different interaction between the material body's real world and the psychic power of the Spirit Realm.
Interestingly though, the real world could contain both psyche and spirituality, the Spirit Realm could hold the material body's heart of Lin An from the real world, and this Mental World could also have complete people in it, even various research instruments.
Between these three worlds, perhaps there wasn't the stark distinction that people imagined with a thick barrier between them, but rather they might be more like a three-sided cheese with interconnected channels.
Lin An had no idea what it actually looked like and could only make such a guess.
