Can a person live without a heart?
In other words, can a body without the support of a soul show signs of life?
The answer is: it can, and it cannot.
There are many examples of it not being possible, such as a vegetative person with severe soul-loss syndrome, animals that have turned into Stone Treasures due to the erosion of the Spirit World Aura, and Witch-hunting Knights who have been devoured by the Furnace and turned into statues.
There are also many examples of it being possible, such as Bi Gan from the legendary Shang dynasty, the storied Ground-Bound Spirits, and Sorcerer Zombies where the spirit has taken the place of the soul as the body's guide.
They follow the traces of the past, carrying out the decisions made by the soul before.
Although they no longer have a future and can never make changes that exceed their past thoughts and decisions, they are indeed showing real signs of life activity.
