The reality was clear: as long as the enemy retained the capability to open portals and unleash fresh waves of monsters, true peace and safety would remain a myth. Zack knew that their efforts needed to be concentrated on eradicating the threats at home, strengthening their defenses, and finding ways to disrupt the enemies' portal-creating abilities. Only by focusing on these immediate priorities could they hope to create a stable foundation from which to launch broader campaigns to possibly reclaim the world eventually.
"He didn't say that to me, but he still thinks that it is important… he probably thought that Lucy or Amanda would eventually bring that up. He is quite cunning," Zack thought while rubbing his chind thoughtfully. "Or maybe all of this is just a coincidence."
