Haunted by the memories of her fallen comrades, Amanda had vowed never to forget the sacrifices they had made. Though the pain of loss still lingered like a shadow over her heart, she had found solace in her new role as an instructor, passing on the knowledge and skills she had acquired to the next generation of hunters.
It was a pity, but Zack didn't want to force her. He had some ideas as to why Amanda would have chosen that path, and he had heard a few rumors. In order not to pressure her, Zack decided to leave, but in the end, she grabbed his hand and stopped him.
"Wait…" Amanda said and then took a deep breath. "I guess I can at least try, but I want to apologize if I fail beforehand."
"Well, let's get going then?" Zack asked when he got up.
"Already?" Amanda frowned. "What about the continuation of the drama of this talk?"
"I decided to skip that. As I said, we don't have time," Zack said.
