Chapter 33 - Chapter 33 - Guild master

(You learned the skill Ice Cannon.)

(Ice Cannon: it is a powerful ice-based skill that allows you to unleash a devastating blast of freezing energy upon your enemies. Ice Cannon deals heavy ice damage to all enemies in its path based on your Intelligence. Enemies hit by Ice Cannon have a chance to be frozen solid, immobilizing them temporarily. This effect takes place when they suffer more than twenty percent of the damage. Costs: 100 mana per second.)

Judging by the cost, the skill was supposed to be awesome, perhaps a few levels below what the boss could do. In any case, Zack couldn't test it now since he had used all his mana earlier.

Zack returned to the hole where the boss had come from and soon found that the wormhole had disappeared. However, he found a transparent sphere there… it was what people used to connect their territories with the guilds.

"Very convenient… and we still don't know why these things exist," Zack thought. "Anyway, it is time to return home."

After single-handedly destroying an entire camp of monsters, Zack found himself receiving fewer experience levels than he had expected. Despite the considerable effort he had put into the battle, the rewards seemed disproportionately low. However, as he took a moment to reflect, he realized that the creatures he had faced had been relatively easy to kill. Perhaps he shouldn't complain too much about the rewards.

In any case, within ten minutes, Zack found himself back at home, the familiar surroundings providing a sense of comfort and safety. Despite the disappointment of the meager experience gains, he knew that every battle was a step forward in his journey as a hunter.

"I have some time, so I guess I will head to the guilds and tell them what I am selling," Zack thought. "Eventually, the wormholes will appear again, and the frozen witches will come… I also have to sell them the cores of the frozen witches to make the value go up."

First, Zack went to the Valkiries Guild and then talked with their receptionist. It hadn't been a long time since he had been there, but she had already forgotten about him. It was noon as well, so it wasn't the right time for hunters to leave.

"How can I help you?"

"I want to sell this and the cores of the frozen witches, I have fifteen hundred of them," Zack said. "How much is your guild master willing to pay for this?"

The receptionist opened her eyes widely when she saw the crystal that could create the two-way teleportation crystal. Her guild also recognized the cores of the frozen witches since they had also tried to conquer the area, but they failed every time. Eventually, she recomposed herself.

"I am going to inform the guild master of this. Can you please wait a moment?" the receptionist asked after she cleared her throat.

"Will be ten minutes be enough?" Zack asked.

"Yes, certainly,"

Zack nodded, and then he went to sit in a chair nearby and wait for the guild master while the receptionist called their leader. Five minutes later, the guild master of the Valkiryes guild showed up.

Her name was Anna, and her appearance reflects her role as a seasoned warrior and leader. She had a long, flowing black hair tied up in a ponytail. Her eyes were sharp and piercing, gleaming with a fierce determination and Intelligence that few could match.

The Guild Master's attire was both practical and stylish, befitting her position. She wore a suit of finely crafted armor adorned with the emblem of the Valkyrie Guild—a majestic winged figure wielding a sword. The armor was sleek and well-fitted, allowing for ease of movement in combat while providing excellent protection. Over her armor, she wears a long, flowing cloak of deep crimson.

"My name is Anna, the guild master of the Valkirye's guild," The woman said and then offered a handshake.

"Zack, solo hunter," Zack said after accepting the handshake. I came here to tell you that I want to sell the things that I mentioned, but I am actually planning to auction them. This is the number of the place I am staying in. You can call it to tell me your offer."

"... Are you going to offer to sell them to all the other guilds?" Anna asked.

"Yes, to the thunder guardians and the bloody sword as well," Zack declared. "I don't care about the metal warrior's money or resources. Do you want to check it the crystal?"

"No, I can tell that is the real deal," Anna said.

"All right then. I will stay here until tomorrow night," Zack said, turning around and leaving the guild.

Anna studied Zack for a while, trying to understand how he got that. Usually, guilds would use those right away to avoid losing or having them stolen, and she had never heard of anyone getting one crystal solo.

In the end, she decided to investigate Zack and soon found the information that until one week ago, he was just a trainee in the hunter's academy. The last one to graduate from his year, actually. The last ones to graduate were always the ones who had the least potential. So, that didn't make any sense… also considering his attitude, she understood that recruiting him was impossible.
