Chapter 2 - Chapter 2- One last word

"Okay. We have come to an agreement." One of the men uttered as he dragged up a black huge briefcase Veronica hadn't noticed earlier. As the man placed the briefcase on the table, in the middle of the room. Claudia's smile lined between he tip of her bonecheek. As she opened the suitcase, she gasped, her hand covering her mouth.

"Honey look this is a lot!" Claudia wielded the briefcase at Jonathan who was quietly inspecting the briefcase. His eyes filled with seriousness. Closing the suitcase, he stood on his feets and carried the suitcase with him not filling in any words leaving Claudia speechless.

"Take her immediately" Jonathan added before finally leaving the room.

Veronica couldn't believe her ears. He thought Claudia was responsible this planted trap, not knowing that the real person that wanted to get rid of her was her own father. As Veronica held her breathe, she held up her eye bag with her finger to stop the tears from falling down her eyes.

"We recommend you start packing Miss Veronica. You only have 30 minutes" One of the men uttered in a deep tone. Veronica had no choice.

Defeatedly, she gets up from the chair and walks upstairs to her room. As she closes the door behind her, tears began to fall down her eyes. She takes deep breathes to control her emotions but all she could just think about was the look on her father's face. It was full of Hatred and disgust. Veronica cleans her salty tears and looks around her 'room', her nostalgia uploading with memories. Even though most of her memories was nothing but torture, she never thought she'll be sold out in an unexpected event.

Out of the blue, a voice murmured from her doorstep. Without turning, Veronica could feel Sharon's evil clerky smirk. Afterall, she has been looking forward to this. That proved why her excitement was the most unfortunate.

"I thought you'd be done packing by now," her voice pierced the air, thin and submissive as always. Instead of dignifying the remark with a response, Veronica maintained her silence. There was no use expending her breath and saliva on an imbecile.

She focused her eyes on her suitcase she managed to reach at the very top of the walldrope.

She begins to select her clothes, totally ignoring Sharon's presence.

"You're not giving me the silent treatment are you?" Sharon scoffed as she layed her back on the wall and folds her hand followed with a smirk on her face.

"You're so ungrateful. You should atleast be happy you get to work in a top nauched place and be the maid of a billionaire. Yet you still grumble like a hungry dog" Sharon kackled but Veronica paid no attention to her words, her focus was attended on her packing.

"You know you were never meant to be one of us Veronica. You don't belong here and you never will." Sharon spaced up, her steps making a dominating thud to the ground, her body in approach, her grin widened. As she closed in on Veronica who tried to stay focused, Sharon walked in closer to Veronica, not a single space was left. With a tangling grin, she moved her face close to Veronica as a whisper left her mouth, their gap equaling to both of their side profiles.

"So be grateful. Because you are nothing more than a slut and a maid"

Sharon giggled and withdrew, stepping back with a chuckle, but Veronica remained stoic, her demeanor utterly robotic. There was no point in engaging with her. Now, more than ever, she yearned to escape this suffocating environment. After finishing packing, Veronica placed the suitcase on the ground and turned to face Sharon, locking eyes with her. Though her gaze was soft, it carried an unmistakable chill, betraying the depth of her inner turmoil.

Veronica opened her mouth and closed it, words unable to leave her mouth. Unexpectedly, a smile rose on her face as she swallowed her saliva before speaking.

"Thank you" Veronica stated leaving Sharon in shock.

'Thank you? THANK YOU?!' Veronica screamed internally. She never expected her words to sound like a gratitude acception. Before Sharon could process or think of anything else to say, Veronica walked passed her holding her suitcase with her hand as she dragged her luggages down the stairs leaving Sharon speechless.

"That bitch" Sharon stated in a low, yet aggressive tone.

As Veronica strolled her suitcase down the stairs, she takes in deep breathe the minute she reached the lower floor. She looked around the living room. No sign of her father and Claudia. Not thinking much about it, she looked around the living room. It was full of memories she wished she could relive over again but everything was trashed in a matter of 8 years. Now, the only thing she could do was reimagine those beautiful moments she had, where her father would call her Daddy's little princess, when her mother would chase her 6 year old younger self around the room, when they would all have breakfast and dinner together. All those memories where lost in her own hallucination. As Veronica said her final goodbye to the house she grew up from, she dragged the suitcase outside the door step to where she spotted a huge black jeep drive into the driveway. The two men from earlier stepped out of the jeep and approached Veronica helping her with her suitcase.

"Are you ready to go" One of the men questioned. Veronica was nervous at this point but what choice did she have? As she turned to face the house, her eyes met with her Father from the top window. His face showed no reaction. Seeing Jonathan's unbothered expression, Veronica snarled. She didn't know what to feel at this point. Whether betrayal or hate.

Focusing her eyes sternly at her Father, she gulped in to answer as a timid stutter left her lips.

"Yes. Let's go".
