Chapter 2 - Light

Slowly, Adonis reopened his eyes and within the depths of his cold crimson pupils, four dots of multicoloured light appeared, flashing within his eyes for a mere instant before they disappeared and his pupils returned to their usual bloody lustre.

A rush of knowledge flooded his mind as time seemed to slow down and his Gifts fully awakened.

In Ishva'al, every single living being, wether humanoid or beast, was born with an innate gift.

These Gifts had no limit on what they could be or represent as they could range from a simple gift that aided in cleaning to a gift that allowed one to control flames or even to a gift that made one immortal.

There was no limit and currently, at once, Adonis had awakened four gifts.

For the first time in three years, his lips parted and he spoke.

{Untie me.}

His voice seemed to be laced with a form of undeniable authority as when his words echoed and reached the man's ears, his mind blanked and he became a vessel for Adonis' will.

He waved his hands and the spear that he'd just formed swiped across the air, shattering Adonis' binds as he fell and touched the ground.

His gaze remained just as calm as he massaged his wrists and the cogs of his mind continued to spin at faster and faster speeds.

"Kneel."

The man kneeled on both knees, his face plastered onto the ground below as he now looked like a mere servant in front of its Lord.

"Where exactly are we located?"

"We're in an underground bunker under the Styl mansion of the west, in the depths of the Keilah forest."

Hearing this, Adonis frowned.

'This is both good and bad. The good thing is I pretty much have free reign on what I can do to escape and have a direct route to follow father's plan. The bad thing is the place is probably filled to the brim with soldiers.'

"How many formations are in this room?"

"Too many to count."

"How many guards are in the mansion?"

"Most likely in the thousands. I'm not sure. I'm only in charge of your torture."

"How many guards are now standing behind this wall?"

"Ten."

His eyes widened and he sucked in a cold breath.

"What's their Elemental level?"

"Weakest are tier six warriors and most powerful are tier nine warriors."

"How many formations have been placed on my body and how…"

As the minutes trickled by, Adonis asked more and more questions as a plan slowly took shape within his mind.

"Here's what you'll do."

****

"Hm?"

In an underground hall, sat at a table facing a grand wall covered in runic formations and seals, ten warriors bantered and drank as they usually did.

To them, it had been the most peaceful three year period of their entire lives. As military men, all they had known was war and bloodshed so as soon as they were assigned with such a ridiculous task, jailing a child, they all immediately jumped in joy and accepted their blessing.

Despite this, they weren't to be underestimated. For these warriors to be personally assigned here by Patriarch Aksal meant they were the cream of the crop and had each, at the very least, served as Grand generals in the army.

"What?" Asked one of the men.

"Hasn't that weirdo been in there for longer than usual? Normally he only stays for two hours before he leaves. He has never gone past or under that time in the last three years."

"Also-"

RUMBLE!

The guard didn't have the time to finish his analysis as immediately, the runes and seals on the grand wall they sat in front of, all shattered, one after the other.

They all immediately stood up and grabbed their weapons, their auras flaring to life as they got into formation and steadily prepared themselves to face whatever danger was coming their way.

BOOM!

The grand wall shattered and a cloud of dust engulfed the hall, snuffing out all light as they were plunged into darkness.

"Master Aryel, are you okay?! If you are alive, make any sound and we'll be able to locate you! I repeat-"

Adonis' gentle hand landed on the face of the guard that stood vanguard to their formation as the man froze.

The guard's eyes widened in horror as he felt something deep within him shake and slowly escape his grasp.

"ARGHHHHG!" He screamed in pain and anguish as veins bloomed across his face.

'Interesting. I didn't expect it to work on entities much more powerful than me.' Calmly thought Adonis.

Adonis had awakened four Gifts.

The first of his Gifts was called [Order] and was rather self explanatory. It allowed him to set undeniable orders onto other entities. Though currently he didn't properly understand the depths of his Gift, it currently was powerful enough to affect beings like the white robed man.

His second Gift, the one he'd just displayed, was called [Snatch] and was a mystery even to himself.

The guard soon passed out, falling on the ground as Adonis let go of his head. The other guards in the formation immediately seeked to act and attack but it was too late.

Before they could react, Adonis spoke.

{Freeze.}

Simultaneously, the white robed man flashed across their group, his spear zipping through their bodies as they were all dismembered and killed in an instant by the man.

'So he's been this powerful the entire time…' thought Adonis with a shiver running down his spine.

Shaking these useless thoughts away, Adonis focused on the task at hand.

"Good, now go out and kill as many people as you can. Make sure to focus and corner the bulk of the guards on the southern side of the mansion."

"While you kill them, spout some nonsense about a cult or something along those lines. Also make sure you leave a few of them alive and in a state passable enough for them to be able to spread the news."

"If you manage to survive, silently go back to the main Lineage and kill as many people as you can."

"If you manage to survive that too then kill yourself when the time is right." He coldly added.

'Though it is a shame I won't be able to use Snatch on him. Ah well, I can't be too greedy.'

"Go."

The white robed scholar nodded before he sprinted away, his body so powerful it left the earth beneath him rippling like water at each and every single one of his steps.

'What a monster.'
