Ron and the rest knew something had gone wrong the moment the rope felt loose. Marty quickly pulled it back to see what had happened the rope came back cut, it was a clean cut made by a blade.
"Fuck," Marty swore and they rushed to the deck. The ship was much closer now, and they could easily see it's deck with the far glass, there was nobody there.
"Prepare the canons," Marty instructed his men.
"I thought we weren't supposed to be loud," said Rin.
"That's still true but we don't know what's happening over there, we need to be prepared just in case," he said.
"We need to go and help them," said Ron worried about his mom and Fiona.
"Believe in Dereka and Isanna, It's not the first time they have done a mission that hasn't gone as they planned, let's give them some time, I just want to get a little closer to the glacier, then we can take the risk of being a little louder, don't worry, I am not going to leave them alone," said Marty and left hissing orders at his men.
Ester looked at Fiona like she was a prey she had just hunted down in the wild. Fiona felt the same bloodlust she had when the Urk had attacked her, even at that time no secret power inside had come out to help her. Everything had slowed down drastically, she felt too exposed surrounded from every direction. What were they going to do, she thought, it was obvious they were going to fight, and although she might not be of much help in fighting she at least needed to get out of their way. But they won't be able to fight freely unless they know she is in no immediate danger. Her mind worked fast, and she turned back towards Derek and Isanna, as she turned her plan in her mind, she saw Derek and Isanna both reaching for their swords, only two others were moving with the same speed, Nefar, and Ester. Fiona started lowering her head towards the ground, the other two realized what she was doing and the time went back to normal speed at that moment, she jumped back in the water, and just as Ester's sword sliced a few of her hairs, she wasn't expecting her to dive into the sea. Before submerging in the sea she saw Derek swipe his sword in a complete circle, fire came out of its end and a big blast happened just as she was pulled and thrown a couple of feet into the sea.
The ship went past her as she was left behind, she saw lights of different colors coming out of the hole before it went away. She looked around panicked, she was going to run out of breath and there was no ship nearby. The water was too cold on her skin now, and there were sea creatures all around her, she started slowly swimming upwards, but she was too deep and too slow. She threw her hands around in panic as a fogginess took over her sight and she started losing her thoughts.
In the hull of the ship sailing away a fierce battle had started. Derek had used a fire blade to create a circular fire tornado spreading outwards around him and Isanna to give them a little space to move around. Isanna took a second and shot towards where Ester was standing beyond the firewall which was going away now but Isanna didn't wait to watch her sword move to attack Ester on the other end was expecting this, her blade matched hers and they were soon two blurs fighting. Ester was good with a sword, but a bow was her specialty, so Derek wasn't worried about Isanna fighting her in close quarters unless her time with the Black Hands had changed her. The same trick didn't work on Nefar he was too smart, and liked to think in between battles, those kinds of opponents are always dangerous, thought Derek. Nefar had left his spot and Derek looked around quickly knowing full well what he was doing, Derek turned in time and blocked the sword aimed at his skull.
"Once more eh Derek, I hope you haven't gone slow on me," said Nefar and took his stance, with a breath which they both took, they readied themselves and then collided. Nefar's fighting style had changed it wasn't anymore a particular type but a perfect blend of different ones. Derek just needed to hold him off too long so that he could read his leg movement.
"I won't fall for the same trick twice!" he shouted and jumped back away from Derek's reach.
Fiona's mind didn't feel the same, she remembered the painful feeling of water flooding her lungs, and now it felt like it had even flowed inside her brain. It was as if it had become one with the sea, her senses had started expanding, the coldness felt much bigger now, it was like she was in a different world. Then she felt little bubbles flowing around her some small ones some bigger, she could somehow touch them with her mind. But every time she did the strange sensations had her pull away, but she wanted to open her eyes, she wanted to escape, so she willed herself and this time didn't back down as she touched another bubble with her mind. The strange sensations turned into something else, they turned into thoughts, into emotions, emotions that weren't hers, and suddenly she felt like she had a body now, only this was much different, she opened her eyes, and saw with a shock her own body floating in front of her, she swam towards it, she was much faster than before she wanted to turn her neck and look at her body but she couldn't. When she reached her body, she grabbed onto it with her mouth, and at once she could now feel both her and the other body she had been controlling. She opened her own eyes and looked down, a fish the size of a dog was biting her softly. She could somehow feel what it was thinking, the thoughts were very simple and slow.
She willed the fish to swim, grabbed its tail, and sped back towards the ship. As she went by she processed what was happening, she was able to breathe underwater suddenly, she was also somehow controlling a fish, she looked around the other fishes too looked at her as if they knew what she was. She could feel their minds too, she could feel which ones were easier to control and which ones were difficult. She willed a few more fishes to swim beside her and grabbing all of their tails she swam even faster.
