"I say that, not simply because I don't believe in the existence of them (Gods and Goddesses) or simply because I feel superior living without them. But this is about the real truth, has Donovan never told you the truth?" Alberto looked at me who still felt like he didn't really understand what he was saying. "If he doesn't tell you, then you have to find out for yourself, I understand that he (Donovan) feels that now is not the right time to tell you the truth, in fact I'm sure from the look in his eyes, Nurlandawa doesn't know the truth either. In the future, I'm sure this reality will definitely shake your soul and body!
"Don't listen to him, kid! Those are just the words of heretics!" said Nurlandawa.
After finishing his meal, Alberto drank a glass of water and then a glass of warm coffee, which he had poured into a glass previously. "Yes, I won't deny your feelings for me. At first, I thought the same as all of you."
Right after everyone had finished their food, we all immediately rushed to pack our things again to continue our long journey towards the capital. I rode in the same carriage as Elena, her maid, and Nurlandawa. Surrounded by troops on guard, while Alberto on his horse followed our group from behind.
The hot sun was at its peak, thankfully because in this forest area the large trees prevented us from feeling the intense heat. It only took about 2-3 hours for us to get out of this forest area, and it took up to 3-4 hours for us to arrive at the national capital. Nurlandawa spoke to the gate guard regarding the reason for his arrival and showed his business card as proof that he was the leader of this group. For Alberto, because he was not part of our party, the gatekeeper identified him separately and in more detail.
The atmosphere was so majestic when I first entered the nation's capital, in contrast to the atmosphere where I came from. Even though night had fallen, there were still many people active, passing by on the main streets of the city, under the light of the lights around the city streets and people's houses. Because we had arrived at our destination, my group and Alberto separated, and he said goodbye to all of us.
"Kid, later in the academy, there may be a moment in your life that makes you so bad that you start blaming everything related to your life." He bent his back slightly. "That's when, remember what I said, there is good and bad, great and low, just and unrighteous. I swear to you that all of that will never change."
He left after saying what he wanted to say to me. I don't know why he suddenly said something like that to me, but I accepted his words, because one day I'm sure there will be a time, his words helped me not to fall.
"Do you feel it too kid?" asked Nurlandawa who suddenly stood next to me.
I thought for a moment, feeling what? I didn't feel anything from Alberto, other than the strength he showed when we were ambushed by the bandits, nothing else. Nurlandawa realized my ignorance, immediately smiled and said.
"For a magician who depends on mana, he certainly wouldn't notice. Even for me, I thought he was just a weak man with such a small mana content. But my experience says otherwise, with his mana capacity being lacking, but that person (Alberto) possesses far greater strength, perhaps even on par with Old Man Donovan." Nurlandawa continued his words while observing the members of his troops. "I also have a message to convey to you from Donovan, there is no need to be obsessed with power or the amount of mana, magic is about understanding, expand your thinking to live, not to gain great power."
That's exactly what Donovan would say to me. Hearing this made me think back to my memories, when Einar and Margaretha always gave me advice, at that time Donovan rarely interacted with me, because every time he met Donovan he always spent his time drinking.
Einar... Margaretha... Donovan... I'm a little doubtful, can I be like you?
We all continued our journey again, this time we just had to look for our accommodation. Together with Nurlandawa, I walked behind the group. I deliberately didn't get on the train, because I wanted to feel the atmosphere in the capital, a different atmosphere from where I come from.
"And Kid!" Nurlandawa spoke to me while walking. There were lots of people passing by, their eyes glancing at us. The luxurious horse-drawn carriage we used was probably what distracted their eyes. "We will only provide assistance to you for now, starting tomorrow you must immediately go to the academy to take the entrance test, and after that it's up to you. If you are accepted you can stay in the school dormitory, and if not, you are free to do whatever you want. Want to."
"Yeah, that's okay, I don't mind at all. For me, that's more than enough," I answered without being arrogant.
"That's good to hear, kid."
Our group stopped in front of a fairly luxurious accommodation, in fact it was so luxurious that I could only see a few people entering the place. It's not strange for Elena, who is the daughter of the mayor of my village. And Nurlandawa gave us orders to wait a moment in front of the guest house, several members decided to rest by sitting on the ground, without letting go of their vigilance. Even though you are in a city that feels safe and peaceful, crime always comes unexpectedly.
Meanwhile, a little far from where the squad members were resting, I decided to read a magic book I brought from home. On the way, I didn't have time to read it because I was busy listening to the story told by Nurlandawa.
This book is the only book that I haven't had time to finish, and the contents of the book contain the levels of each magic, as well as the basic understanding of each magic. Each magic has levels from 1 to 9, where the first level is nothing more than basic magic, while the last level is magic that is able to transcend all causality.
This book does not explain the types of magic from levels 5 - 9, because it might be very dangerous if someone tried to do it without supervision. So, I only focused on basic magic from the first and second levels, because according to Margaretha, whether in the world of magic or whatever, knowing the basics is very important.
"What are you doing?" Elena asked, making me who was focused on reading, surprised, saw her who was now standing, bending her body slightly next to me.
"Study. Tomorrow there will be an entrance test to the academy. Aren't you studying too?"
"Studying is boring. I don't need to take the entrance test, because my family has guaranteed that I can enter there."
The privileges of nobility, make me jealous.
"I also agree with you. Studying is really boring, but there's nothing I can do, I don't want to bear the stupidity of not knowing."
"Okay everyone, return your things immediately, and immediately enter the inn. Leave the horse-drawn carriage there, later someone will take it to a better place!" Nurlandawa ordered and we immediately carried out his orders.
I saw Elena's belongings being carried by her personal servant, as well as by a soldier. Unlike me, he has a lot of things to carry. I only brought some clothes, one book, and some equipment for my daily life.
Inside the inn, I still saw many adults eating and drinking in the inn hall. Maybe because it was still several hours after sunset, the time when they had just finished their activities.
"Princess!" Nurlandawa called Elena. "Your room is number three and you Isaac, your room is number 5, which is at the edge of the corner over there and the rest of you are in rooms number one, two and four!"
Elena and her personal maid immediately went into the room chosen by Nurlandawa, even though Elena complained because her room was not according to her wishes, Nurlandawa said that it was the only room that could protect her from all threats of danger.
