In the Stark Tower, a data cable connects to a terminal device. Peter types on a computer. Jarvis says, "Data transfer complete, 3%, 2%, 1%..."
The computer screen in front of Peter lights up. Peter exclaims, "I receive! Let me see... Oh my god, what is all this??????"
Countless information and data appear before Peter's eyes. He can't believe it and yells in disbelief, "What is it? It seems to be some military personnel files... Lawrence, 35 years old, lost both arms, Experiment No. 3022..."
"Someone conducts experiments on these retired disabled veterans... Oh my god... Wait, what's this?"
"Extremis Plan?"
Peter begins typing on the keyboard rapidly. The light from the screen flickers on his face as he browses through the information. His complexion starts to turn pale, and he looks increasingly disturbed.
"Mr. Parker, I detect there's something wrong your heart rate. Please stop what you're doing immediately, take a deep breath..."
Peter puts his hands down. He staggers back a few steps, then swallows and says with a dry throat, "We may find a big secret..."
Then he shakes his head, looks around, and pants, "Jarvis, make sure this device cannot connect to the internet. Protect the data here, I'll be back later..."
His voice trembles, showing extreme nervousness, but he tries to calm himself down and arranges everything in place. He grabs his backpack and leaves the building.
When Schiller sees Peter, he has never seen Spider-Man with such a pale face before. Although Peter sometimes appears weary from staying up late, now his lips almost lose their color. His body trembles, showing signs of being scared.
Before Schiller can say anything, Peter recites as if reciting lines, "Listen, Doctor, let me say first! I'm afraid I'll forget later..."
"Just now, I get all the information about a secret plan from Dr. Connors. But I can't copy them or record them with anything. It's too horrifying. If it leaks, the consequences will be unimaginable."
"So, now I can only dictate this plan to you. It's called the 'Extremis Plan' and is a series of plans organized by high-ranking military officials led by General Robert of the Tartu faction."
Peter seems to be reciting the information but, thanks to his extraordinary memory, he recites it fluently. He continues, "It is a plan aimed at triggering the human body's super-fast recovery function and creating super soldiers. Their plan goals are rapid wound healing, limb regeneration, overcoming muscle limitations, and turning every soldier into a super soldier without pain or emotions."
"Now, this plan is still in its preparation stages. But 16 soldiers have already undergone the experiment. All of them are retired military personnel who have lost limbs or suffered serious injuries on the battlefield."
"Among them, three are Dr. Connors' comrades."
"Due to Dr. Connors' achievements in biology and bionic technology, he has been in contact with the military. However, he concealed his past computer training from the military. And hence, he stole most of the information about this plan during his cooperation with them..."
"It's because he wants to save these soldiers that Dr. Connors has been continuously researching the Lizard serum. He doesn't have the ability to stop the military from continuing with this plan. He only wants to use his research to transform these soldiers into healthy normal individuals in advance, so they can avoid participating in these experiments."
"From the research progress reports of this plan, Dr. Connors was a step too late. This batch of disabled veterans has already received the first injections. The reason why Dr. Connors was so eager to put it in use. Because of his impatience, he skipped the final safety tests, which led to him becoming a lizard-like monster..."
Peter finishes speaking quickly, almost falling to the ground. Schiller helps him onto the couch and pours him a glass of water. Peter takes a few sips to catch his breath. Schiller puts a heart rate monitor bracelet on him.
Schiller notices that Peter's heart rate is indeed abnormal. To make a spider-mutated superhero nervous to the point of irregular heart rhythm, Schiller can already imagine what Peter has seen in those files.
Peter seems greatly shaken. Those files are not just dull experimental data. There are numerous images of human experiments, in short, extremely inhumane.
After drinking some water, Peter can't help but feel nauseous. Those images are far more terrifying than any bloody injuries he has ever seen. He has never seen anything so terrifying in his life.
Seeing Peter rushed to the restroom to vomit, Schiller asked Mist, "Were you sure there was a symbiote also on Stark? When did it happen?"
"I didn't know. But it must have been one of us. I could recognize it."
Schiller pondered for a moment. He thought the symbiote that could possess Stark during this time period was most likely Venom.
After a while, Peter came back. His hands were still trembling slightly. He begged, "Doctor, we must find a way to stop it. If it continued like this, they would destroy the world..."
"And those soldiers were heroes who sacrificed everything for their country. They shouldn't..."
Peter seemed to remember those images again, making his complexion even worse. Schiller comforted, "Don't think about it anymore. I'll hypnotize you shortly, and then you can go upstairs and sleep."
"No, I couldn't. I had to find a way. I had to... I couldn't let them make it..." Peter kept muttering, his mind in a daze.
As a 16-year-old high school student, facing such a brutal reality suddenly and receiving such a huge impact all at once, Peter was clearly on the verge of breaking down.
"Jarvis, were you there?" Schiller asked Peter's phone.
"I was there, sir."
"Alright, I knew I may not have had the authorization to access Stark's private information. But I still wanted to ask you, did the military invite Stark to participate in any negotiations?"
"Sir, in fact, you did. Mr. Stark granted you level 2 access, which included access to all external information."
"Indeed, within 5 days, I received 7 messages from different communication channels, mostly inviting Stark to military bases for talks."
"What was Stark's attitude?"
"I couldn't know or disclose."
Schiller claimed, "Now the military had no chip. These invitations were just to sound out. Because they knew, even if Stark was called over, they still wouldn't get what they wanted due to a lack of chips."
"In that case, why not give them one..."
Peter listened somewhat dizzily. He wasn't particularly interested in this kind of thing, but he still tried to think and asked, "Did this relate to stopping that plan?"
"The plan was made by the high-ranking military officials, right?"
"Yes, according to Dr. Connors' data, there was a faction within the high-ranking military called the Tartu. They seemed to be a political alliance led by General Robert. These people were different from traditional officers. They believed that future wars would be between superhumans, so they always wanted to increase military investment in the development of super-soldiers..."
"They were the ones who created this terrible Extremis plan and used disabled soldiers for experiments..."
As Peter spoke, he began to vomit again. If this plan was a regular operation, he could bear it. However, it was a chemical modification plan. The injured soldiers who received injections could transform into anything, which had an unparalleled impact on Peter's worldview.
He couldn't understand how there could be such devils in the world, turning their fellow countrymen into such beings.
And they were all soldiers who should be comrades.
For the first time, Peter realized that even within the same group, the exploitation of those at the lower level by those in power was endless. After fully exploiting their value, they still refused to let go of their remaining bodies. There were devils in the world who cared only for their own interests.
"Let me think. The military officers of the Tartu faction should be the ones who wanted to acquire the technology for the suit. After all, the other old generals probably preferred more missiles or something."
"I want to guide Stark to meet these people. Of course, Stark wouldn't be willing to see them. But if the military strongly insisted, Stark would be annoyed and may go to deal with it..." Schiller rubbed his chin.
"In theory, it should be like that," Peter said, "but what's the benefit of bringing Mr. Stark together with them? Mr. Stark wouldn't kill anyone, right? Besides, Mr. Stark is drunk now, so we can't tell him about this plan. Even if we did, Mr. Stark wouldn't be able to kill all those people in the military base, right?"
"Surely, Stark couldn't. Even if he found out about this plan, he wouldn't resort to violence to directly kill those masterminds. He wasn't that kind of person."
"But we don't need to care about the process, as long as the result is achieved."
"What do you plan to do it?"
"You don't need to know now. Come here, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and feel every sensory organ in your body from top to bottom..."
Soon, Peter began to relax and fell asleep.
The next day, when he woke up and went downstairs, Peter found Schiller playing with a syringe. He became curious and wanted to get closer. But suddenly, his spider-sense tingled. Peter took two steps back and asked, "What were you doing, doctor? It seemed dangerous..."
"It was indeed dangerous, but I needed you to transport it later."
"To where?"
"Dr. Connors is in the laboratory at Stark Tower. Jarvis told me the military was coming today to collect the remaining results of the medical collaboration project, and this would be one of the outcomes."
"Of course, before that, you needed to create a believable experimental report for it."
"Uh... create? What about its original experimental report?"
"It went to the asylum along with its inventor."
Peter pursed his lips, "So, it was actually an unapproved product?"
"But it worked well, and that's only what mattered."
"So, what should the experimental report look like?"
"You could describe it as a nerve and brain activity stimulant."
"If it wasn't meant for that, then what was it actually for?"
"In fact, it was meant for that too, but the side effects were quite significant. But it didn't matter, because nobody would actually use it. It was only meant to provide a slight stimulus to an alien..."
Peter didn't quite understand. Why was there a mention of an alien? He treated Schiller's words as a metaphor he couldn't comprehend and skipped over it.
But in reality, what Schiller said was true. The syringe contained highly concentrated fear toxin.
