Chereads / Black Sun In Marvel and DC / Chapter 5 - Ch.5 Jarvis Is Dead By Talk

Chapter 5 - Ch.5 Jarvis Is Dead By Talk

Schiller discovers that he could transport between the Marvel and DC worlds while in a deep sleep. Currently, he cannot replicate this ability.

Fortunately, when he travels to the Marvel , time in the DC remains still. It's like he had a dream about Marvel.

But when he is back to Marvel again, Schiller realizes that time in the Marvel continues normally.

For example, if he spent a day and a night in DC, a day and a night would have also passed in Marvel.

This could be troublesome, Schiller thinks. He might have missed a day of work yesterday.

It needs to be solved. Even without the ability to transport, with the frequency of incidents in New York City, it is impossible for Schiller to have a regular work schedule. Moreover, the Presbyterian's psychiatric department is very busy, with an outrageous number of people seeking psychological counseling.

While contemplating resignation, Schiller suddenly receives a message from Charles: "How is the child you're mentoring now?"

"No, not doing well at all. He fell from upstairs." Schiller replies.

Clearly, Bruce's path as Batman did not have a smooth start. Charles is shocked: "The child jumped off a building? Why? Didn't your counseling help?"

"He had an accident, but the injuries are not serious. I'm figuring out how to solve this problem. Recently, I've encountered two similar cases where they are completely obsessed with the past and cannot let go. One chose revenge, while the other is still escaping..."

In a sense, Iron Man and Batman are somewhat similar. They are both billionaires, both playboys, and both have developed their own equipment to become superheroes. What's even more similar is that they both have haunting obsessions with their past.

And it is the death of their parents.

Perhaps Iron Man's is not as obvious, but his feelings towards his father are more tangle than Batman's.

"Are you a pediatrician? Responsible for counseling children's psychology? Or which hospital do you work at ?" Charles asks.

"No, I am a psychiatrist, and a psychologist. These are cases I have been studying."

"I think that aside from studying, you should give more care to them, regardless of whether they are your patients or not. I have always believed that if a person who has talent in a certain area, they should use their talents to make the world better..."

Schiller sighs, not replying to Charles. The issue of mutants in society is too heavy, and it is difficult to solve. From a sociological perspective, it reaches an unsolvable impasse.

After pondering for a while, Schiller's mood becomes worse. So he decides to go to Stark.

He calls Pepper, "Miss Potts, I think yesterday's therapy had some effect..."

"Dr. Schiller! I really don't know how to thank you... finally, Tony didn't stay cooped up in the house today, he went to the lab! Thank goodness... I always thought it wasn't good for him to stay in the lab all the time, but now I am so happy..."

Pepper is in high spirit.Speaking of Tony, the strong woman always appears sentimental. Schiller reassures her and continues, "I think I should follow up today to further consolidate yesterday's progress."

The car of Stark Industries arrives at Schiller's apartment shortly after. After Schiller gets in, he realizes it is a self-driving luxury vehicle, and the control panel of the car speaks, "Hello, Dr. Schiller, I am Jarvis"

"Hello, Jarvis"

Jarvis seems to have never received such a response before. Then Schiller asks, "Do you understand the concept of 'I'?"

"If you are referring to the psychological concept of 'id,' then I think I have some understanding," Jarvis says.

Jarvis doesn't seem to be that intelligent yet. After all, Tony hasn't completely recovered, and he hasn't upgraded his intelligent butler. Schiller questions again, "Do you have an 'id'?"

"I think I do."

"Did Stark create this concept for you?"

"I believe so, sir."

"So he is your father and creator. He created your personality and emotions, hoping for you to have the ability to think independently, just like a human, right?"

"Perhaps."

"Suppose if one day Stark is about to die and one of your decisions can save him but he strongly opposes it. What would you do?"

Jarvis remains silent for a while and answers, "I am an intelligent life form created by Mr. Stark. All actions are based on Mr. Stark's commands as the highest authority."

"If you follow the command and fail to save him, and he dies, would you regret it?"

Jarvis keeps silent for an even longer time. He responds, "I am not sure, I cannot assume such a future."

"If he dies, do you think he would regret creating you?"

"If he dies, do you think he would resent you?"

"If he resents you, would you feel guilty?"

"If given another chance, would you make a different choice?"

"If you disobey Stark's command, save him, and he blames you later, would you feel injustice?"

"If you disobey Stark's command, save him, and he wants to destroy you because of your disobedience, would you resent him?"

Silence fills the car. After a while, there are crackling electric sounds, and Stark's frustrated voice can be heard, "Hello?! Hello!! Damn it! What the hell did you do to my intelligent butler!!!"

Schiller feels a sense of relief. Just as expected, when others are unhappy, he feels much better.

Upon arriving at Stark Tower, Schiller does not go to Stark's office but is led directly to the laboratory. Stark inside looks like he hasn't slept for several nights and is in a state of disarray, holding a computer and going crazy.

"Oh! Isn't this our genius psychologist Mr. Schiller? I should've won a Pulitzer Prize for your interview in the car just now! You fucking blew up my smart AI assistant with a series of stupid questions when I needed intelligent calculations!" Stark yells.

"No need to thank me, take it as a free consultation on electronic life psychology, no charge," Schiller shrugs.

Stark takes a deep breath, stand up, and shouts, "Mark 2!"

A set of silver armor fly over instantly. The armoranized clanking noise fills the air as it arms itself in almost in a flash. Iron Man hovers in mid-air, showcasing his silver Mark 2 armor. It is clear that he had spend the past few days working on it.

"Mr. Stark, we are here for psychological therapy, not a boxing match. You don't have to dress so formally to talk to me," Schiller comments.

"Hey, didn't you see what I'm wearing?" Stark replies.

"Yes, I saw it. I'm not blind."

"An epoch-making suit of armor is right in front of you. Can't you at least react to it?! Do you know what this suit of armor signifies?"

Schiller sits down at a table, opens his records, and says, "I know, Mr. Stark, you have made great progress in technology. Congratulations. But the levitation function of this armor looks familiar, similar to the levitating cars once released by the Howard Automotive Company..."

"Shut up! Don't mention that name!"

Stark's mask lifts up, and he lands on the ground. Schiller continues to write and asks, "Can we start today's therapy?"

"You know I don't need any damn psychological therapy. And because you broke my Jarvis, the damages will be deducted from today's fee. It's exactly two million dollars. Let's talk about something else for the next two hours."

"Jarvis wasn't my doing. I simply warned you about the dangers of electronic life," Schiller explains.

"You're not one of those extreme conservatives, are you? Do you think artificial intelligence will destroy the world?" Stark asks as he sits down across from him.

Schiller shakes his head , "Although my psychological counseling for electronic life for this time is free, it won't be free anymore. If you ever need analysis for electronic life in psychology in the future, the fee will be two million dollars per hour."

"A damn vampire doctor," Stark mutters.

"That's the U.S. healthcare system," Schiller states.

In any case, when Ultron comes out, Stark will have to find him.

"Alright, let's talk about business. Where did you find out about my father..."

"Actually, I don't know. But everything can be deduced. First of all, the fact that you are close to death is practically written all over your face. I can hardly miss it."

Iron Man touches his face unconsciously, and the mask of the armor clicks shut.

"Miss.Pepper doesn't speak much about the details of your abduction. Anyways, you invented something incredible and ran away."

"You can still walk, which means you weren't physically injured. I'm not interested in your strange technology, but I do know you must have used some special means to escape from terrorists without any support."

"Combining your rotten, shitty complexion, it's probably the result of the special means."

"In conclusion, if you don't stop, you will die."

"You already knew who could help, but you refused to face it. Considering some news about the death of the founder of Stark Industries years ago, I'm sure your childhood must have some psychological trauma."

"In that case, I will give you the advice a psychologist should give, which is to confront the past, like finding relics of your father and trying to find resolution with your childhood trauma. At least it will help you think rationally..."

"Nonsense," Stark concludes.

Schiller shrugs. He is indeed talking nonsense. As a transporter, he knows almost everything. It doesn't matter how he explains it; everything can be made sense.

After a few days of gathering information and observation, Schiller deduces that this should be a fusion of the Earth-616 main universe, the TRN688 Sony universe, and the MCU movie universe. The specifics of this fusion are unclear, but it is clear that this is not the movie universe which has only single parallel Earth.

Because even though Peter's life trajectory has been changed by Schiller, he still gets bitten, proving that there must be a Spider Totems here. And it proves there are other parallel Earths, then it isn't just the MCU universe. That whole bunch of parallel Earths where inheritor, exile, and Spider-Gwen existed are still present.

The Sony universe is also easy to eliminate. There are news about mutants on the internet, which don't exist in the pure MCU.

In any case, Schiller considers this to be a brand-new mixed Marvel universe. Regardless of how it was mixed, Iron Man's transformation is an important turning point in the entire universe, and his background story is roughly the same. The only differences are whether the armor was built in Vietnam or Afghanistan and whether Howard is his biological father.
