The trial of blood was over and Lucifer grinned at his weak brother laying helplessly on the floor

"Leviathan " Lilith screamed in anguish as she was held back from running to the unconscious body of her son. Her heart was filled with fear that he was dead

"Oh come on mother "bruised and panting Lucifer shrugged as he spat a mouth full of blood. A long moment of silence as leviathan laid dead on the floor

"I win" Lucifer growled at his victory throwing his hands in the air as the crowd cheered loudly. He was the winner even tho it was obvious he cheated

"Leviathan" Lilith struggled away from the grip of her servants as she ran quickly to the stage holding the lifeless body of her son as blood trailed from his chest, mouth and a bit from his nose

 This wasn't the plan,it was just a fight for power but Lucifer took it too far. He hated his twin brother and it wasn't a secret any longer. He smiled, knowing he won. Lucifer's mind was clouded with the thirst for power and didn't mind killing anyone, even his twin brother .

 All he ever wanted was the staff of authority, he wanted to be leader and nothing was too big to get off the way

"How could you" Lilith disappointed at Lucifer screamed at him as her fangs pulled out

"It's a bloody game mother " he responded with no sense of regret

" you aren't meant to kill your brother, you won already Lucifer" Lilith wept as the unconscious body of leviathan laid on her hand

"That's too late" he cleaned the blood that stained his lips slowly

 He had a sense of power and authority, what greater fulfillment than killing his only rival, at least no one would compare him to Leviathan. He didn't feel a bit of remorse for his actions

 Lilith was filled with regret, she would have just given the staff of authority to who her mind pleased, she wouldn't have listened to Lucifer and the congregation of elders. She held leviathan close to her chest as she wept in regret, it was done Leviathan was gone

"Please don't do this to me leviathan, listen to me, it's your mother . Fight please. Don't die please, don't die like your father Thanatos did please " she begged the unconscious body of her son desperately as she pulled him to her chest shaking his vigorously to wake up

 Thanatos her husband, died in the trail of blood also 400 years ago, she couldn't risk loosing her son to the trail of blood again.

"The fight for power is done, we crown Lucifer as the Head of the clan. All hail Lucifer, Leader of the Feeders, the morning star, the King of Hades " the familiar voice of the anchor called out as he announced Lucifer the winner of the match. The crowd screamed loudly, jubilating and cheers filled the crowd of vampires

Leviathan was taken to the torment of souls where he would be cremated . Lilith wept deeply for the death of her son, Lucifer on the other hand celebrated his new position of power with the rest of the clan.

"All hail your king" he laughed boastfully gulping the glass filled with fresh blood. His eyes moved through the crowd, it was an ego stroking display of power. He loved it, he smiled in victory for his new position. Such breath of fresh air to finally be leader

"Your mother seems worried" he was told in a whisper by the servant

"There are more important things to worry about" he dismissed him immediately. Enjoying the chant of his name, it felt like a dream come through as he raised his hands up in victory

On the other end was Lilith,

"Can you do anything " Lilith desperately asked Crusier the witch, The young red haired lady moved little crystal rocks on the dead body of leviathan

"A soul for a soul my lord" she whispered in a snake hiss

"A soul for a soul?" Lilith asked confused

"Whose soul will you trade for his in the land of the dead?" Crusier asked as she burnt sage on the lifeless wounded body of leviathan

"I don't know, please do something Crusier " she pleaded in tears as the both looked at each other

"I can do little to nothing my lord, the land of dead is a place of transaction. A soul for a soul. A life for a life "

She looked at the lifeless body of leviathan with so much pity

"You can't take from the land of the dead without giving something in return my lord , to redeem his soul you need to replace his position" she explained as drums began playing from no where

"Think my lord, what can you give for a life " she whispered as she began dancing to the beat of drums that played in the background

"I don't know, please do something cruiser "

"Would you owe the land of the dead "she asked quietly, like it was her only option

Desperate for a solution Lilith answered "Yes yes"

"But…"she paused hissing at her

"You'll pay double the price for one my lord" her eyes roamed at her with so much mystery

Lilith was desperate at this point, anything to bring leviathan back

"I'll pay double the price " she said without thinking of the consequences of her action

"Well then, let's retrieve his soul " she brought out a rack of knives and began humming some unknown words and rituals

"Your blood my lord" cruiser held outr her hand as she asked for Lilith blood. She slit her palm into a silver beaded cup

 Chanting louder, and dancing without rhythm, Crusier mixed some potions into the blood.

"A soul for a soul a life for a life, beneath the world Is the soul of the dead, retrieved by blood, retrieved by love. Leviathan breath the life of the world and let go of the chains of death" she recited pouring the blood portion into his mouth slowly

The long heart beating silence as they both watched leviathan dead body,Crusier said nothing then began burning sage over leviathans face. Lilith anxiously waited for leviathan to breath but he didn't

"Did it work" Lilith asked in a low tone as not to her hopes high

"Shhhhhhh" cruiser whispered for her to be silent

The dancing,humming and drums made Lilith more anxious as nothing seemed to be happening, she felt helpless at this point.

She held every inch of her from panicking, she realized all this was Lucifer's fault . There wasn't a need to stab his brother with a poisoned knife, it was against the rule, but the the trial of blood has no rules. Shame, regret, anger and a sudden sense of resentment flushed her as she thought of Lucifer. But how could he? His twin brother. She could bear another loss.Thanatos death recked her, she loss the essence of herself when he died, her mind played the worst scenario and she felt her heart beat louder than ever. Maybe she wasn't as cold as she thought. She still had some feelings even tho she was the Mother of Demons

 The sharp intake of breath brought her mind back as leviathan shook uncontrollably

"Levi" she called out moving close to him as she held his arm but he said nothing but shake continuously

"Is he okay" with audible fear in her voice she looked at cruiser, who said nothing

 Leviathan eyes opened but it was all black, as his breathing became stable.

"Welcome" cruiser hissed as she laughed audibly

"Mum" leviathan gained consciousness and looked into the worried eyes of his mother as tears filled her eyes quickly

"My goodness you got me scared" she hugged him tightly and he looked around confused as ever. All he could recall was Lucifer stabbing him with a silver knife.

But that wasn't enough to kill him, the looked at his mother. Lilith looked pale and worried, her eyes looked sad,Leviathan knew something was wrong

"Where's Lucifer" he could finally speak in an almost inaudible tone

"That's the least of your problems ,you need to rest "Lilith tried taking his mind off

"Where the hell is Lucifer Lilith " the anger in his voice roared as he realized his brother killed him. Feeling Betrayed from his brothers action he stays silent as sudden weakness filled him

"You need to rest leviathan "cruiser softly pushed him to lay down

It was after dark and the family gathered to formally have a meeting on the obvious elephant in the room

"Lucifer, you were in the wrong for killing your brother" Lilith called out immediately

"It's a game of no rules mother, what exactly would I have done, allow him kill me?" He responded with so much spite in his voice

"Leviathan had no plan on killing you"

"Oh please mother, he pushed me into the tongue of fire , what would I have done" he defended himself sincerely

"But you didn't get hurt did you"

"I really wonder, if you would have reacted the same way, crying like a child if leviathan killed me" he barked at his mother with disgust

"You wouldn't speak to mother in that tone" weak to his bones, leviathan struggled as he spoke

" And if I do, what exactly are you going to do brother" Lucifer hissed at leviathan showing his fangs . Signifying he was ready for another fight.

Lucifer definitely wasn't ready for the guilt shifting games. He was just coronated and he needed peace, fresh blood and some kind of warmth, not a meeting discussing what he did right or wrong

"I have come to a simple conclusion, for peace to reign among us all" leviathan stood up raising up his blood pendant

"I leviathan Thanatos denounce this Clan, I free myself from every obligation and participation to any ritual, either by blood or covenant " he breaks the pendant of blood on the ground and everyone gasped in shock as no one had ever denounced their clan before. It was an abomination to do so and leviathan was fed up with the lies, rivalry and pretense

"Noo…."Lilith screamed but wasn't fast enough to hold the pendant of blood being smashed on the ground

"That's the blood of the entire clan you just broke Leviathan, what have you done"

Lilith was furious but Leviathan didn't care a bit.

Leviathan leaving the clan was an eyesore, denouncing his clan would bring a bad omen to his clan but he cared less
