"I'm sorry we didn't get a honeymoon. Sasha wasn't thrilled with the idea of me taking off with the merger happening." Miles says.
"It's alright." I turn my back on him. "I understand his reasons for wanting you here."
Much as I'm trying to say all the right things, it seems to me like Miles is sensing some underlying disappointment in my expression. He moves closer to me and turns me to look at him. "Are you upset that we didn't go away just the two of us?"
I shrug. "I mean, that would have been nice. But it's not like this is a real marriage anyway."
"It is very real to me." He frowns.
I grimace. "Even though you were forced into it?"
He runs his thumb on the side of my cheek. "It might have started like that, Arlo. But I'm glad that I'm your husband after all."
A bright shade of pink travels up his cheeks. "I'm happy that I'm your husband too."
