"Aah!!!" My voice echoed throughout the room as I felt the shock waves pass through my body for God knows how long.
The chains rattled as I tried to break free from them. My body ached from the pain, I threw my head back and forth as my body shook violently.
"Tell me, how did you enter Ariona's body? " The Old Alpha asked again.
They had conducted a series of incantations on me but none seemed to be working.
Then the Old Alpha switched to using electric eels on my body, placing them one after the other.
"It's a miracle" I managed to say, my voice cracked and I felt him place the eel on my body again.
I jerked from the force as I felt the wave of electricity pass through my body, my body shaking immensely that I was almost out of breath as I was being electrified.
"You don't want to speak right?" He asked and I kept mute, my lips refused to open as though I was gagged.
There wasn't anything I could say about how I woke up in Ariona's body.
The witch walked into the room again, holding a book. That's when the electrocution stopped. The Old Alpha removed the eels from my body and I took shallow breaths.
My eyes were fluttering, I couldn't keep them open for too long anymore.
I could feel Ana go numb within me. Although I could still feel her, she felt like a wisp of smoke.
"Since we can't get a word out of her, we will try with the spells" the woman said, opening the book and taking the scissors, to cut my hair again.
My blood had already been taken for the fifth time. My eyes fluttered weakly as I tried to see what they were up to.
The woman brought a spooky pot, placing it before me. She set some woods under it and with the strike of her matchstick a fire was kindled.
'What's the crazy woman doing?' I couldn't help but ask myself.
The Old Alpha Cassio was moving around and carrying out any obligation she had given him like an errand boy.
'Maybe she hypnotized him'
Everyone else had left the room aside the three of us.
Thinking back to what the Old Alpha had said that he could tell apart a miracle and magic. That could only mean that he has gotten deep into magic and maybe… dark magic.
She poured some substances into the pot, her lips moving with no sound coming from them, my hair and blood were the last things she poured into the pot.
She stirred it, chanting and shouting Ariona's name. The Old man stood by the side, watching the scene. What seemed like green smoke erupted from the pot filling the whole place.
My lungs felt like they had been blocked as I gasped for air. I tried to clutch at my chest but my hands were chained. I tried to shake my hands off the chains but I was too weak… too weak to move a muscle.
My head moved back and forth as the pain shot up to my brain, I felt my body grow cold. My eyes closed.
'Did I die again'
But I can still speak. I opened my eyes, I could still see the Old Alpha Cassio and the witch but I wasn't chained. I could move my hands, I wasn't at the same spot I'd been at.
The Old Alpha's lips moved but I didn't seem to grasp what he was saying, it felt like I was in a trance but I wasn't.
My feet moved closer to the Old Alpha Cassio and the witch, waving my hand but they couldn't see me. They couldn't notice me.
I looked at my hands. 'What happened?... why can't they see me?'
My eyes fell on Ariona's body… her body, but I was meant to be inside her.
Then it dawned on me.
I'm outside her body, how's that possible, how could that be.
'Am I now a ghost'
'Is this how it feels like to be a ghost, it feels… so nice, no one can see me or even hear me'
I shook off the thought when I saw the eyes of Ariona open, I was rooted to the spot, very sure that my eyes were like saucers at the moment.
'How could her eyes open when am not in her body'
Then I heard the Old Alpha called, "Ariona"
She moved her head to face him, her eyes blue like the sea.
"That's her," the witch confirmed.
Looking at her right now, made me wonder, if only I had met her before she died then it would have solved a lot and maybe we could be great friends. She looked so pure.
When her eyes met him, her blue sea eyes turned frost like ice crystals.
"What do you want?" Her voice was livid with rage.
"Why have you awoken me?"
They invoked her spirit, no wonder the Old Alpha knows magic…black magic.
"I need your help, I know… I was never good but I need your help right now" the Old Alpha said.
A smile appeared on Ariona's lips but it disappeared like it was never there.
"Even if I wanted to help anybody, I won't help you, Old Alpha" she answered.
"Please I need your help" he begged.
I rolled my eyes, the ruthless Alpha is begging for help… that can never be true and worse he is asking for it from the person he killed.
"You need my help… you haven't changed Alpha Cassio, you killed me and now you are asking for my help!" Ariona thundered. Her voice shook the room.
"You won't get any help not after all the blood you have spilt"
"I just want my heir back" he said
"You want to continue your lineage when you destroyed so many others and even now" she said as she looked at the chains that were fastened to her hands.
"You don't want to let my body rest even after you have killed me"
"Your heir won't be waking up," she told him.
"Never wake me up from my sleep, remember you told me to rest in peace"
The current person in this body is the owner of the body" she added.
"NEVER WAKE ME UP AGAIN" she said her voice vibrating the entire room, green smoke filling the place.
I began to gasp again. My lungs felt like they were blocked by the green smoke that covered the entire room. Just like that I fell into an abyss.
****
My ears buzzed as I heard my name.
"Lily… Lily, wake up" It sounded very much like Ana but when I opened my eyes which felt so weak, I saw the Old Alpha Cassio and the witch.
"Ariona," he called.
"It's not her, it's the original owner of the body" the witch told him.
'The original owner'
"Am not the original owner" I wanted to say but I remembered Ariona telling them that am now the owner of her body.
The Old Alpha's shoulders slumped, clenching his fists, he gave me a death glare but I couldn't be bothered.
"I won't release you if that's what you are thinking," he said.
'As expected of the ruthless Alpha'
He walked out of the room with the witch following closely behind him.
I closed my eyes as teardrops fell from them. I wasn't in any pain at the moment, I was just sad for Ariona the pain she had to feel and yet the Old Alpha Cassio felt no remorse just wanting his heir back.
He can't continue to rule this pack, if he was so ruthless then how ruthless would his heir be.
The iron bars opened and a few guards walked in, taking the witch's utensils with them.
Before the bars opened again to reveal Wolf and the two familiar maids.
Subconsciously, I ran my tongue against my cracked lips as the scent of the meal they were carrying filled my nostrils.
'I always have an appetite when it comes to food'
After all I have to eat if I need to get out of here.
The chains on my wrists fell to the ground as Wolf unlocked them but he chained my feet so "I wouldn't escape," he had said.
I took the plate of pancakes, munching at it not minding the stares I got.
"You should slow down a bit," Wolf said.
But I ignored him, continuing to eat.
Soon I was done eating.
Glancing at the faces that watched me.
The maids had pity on their faces and the Wolf who sat at a far distance looked indifferent.
Standing up from the seat, he walked over to me while the maids grabbed the plates and left the room.
Wolf bent to my level and unlocked the chains only to fasten them on my wrists.
His eyes watched mine like he wanted to say something but he stood back composing himself.
"Your interrogation continues tomorrow," he said.
