Chapter 3 - 03. Goddess Of Love.

Alex expressed his hatred for the deities of the game and how he wished the deities would face the same cruelty the denizens of the human continent faced with the demons.

This cruel comment and a couple more were the sole reason for the goddess' anger.

Meanwhile, Alex never suspected that she was a real goddess, so he kept lamenting about the things he hated in the game in his drunken state.

After getting his grievances off his chest, Alex logged out of the forum and laughingly informed Orion about how he had a conversation with someone whose username was Goddess321.

He also told Orion about how the 'goddess' vowed to make sure he obeyed her orders before sending him to a completely different world that was similar to Fantasy War.

Orion didn't take him seriously because he could see how drunk and wasted Alex was, and this was all the more reason for him not to take Alex's words seriously.

Unfortunately, It turned out that Alex wasn't lying about what he said last night, and now, that goddess had mistaken him for Alex, because Alex had used his account to log into the forum.

_____

Now that the misunderstanding had been cleared up, Orion understood why he was summoned here.

He was also able to understand a lot of things from the goddess's point of view.

It turned out that the goddesses, demon gods, beast gods, and every other gods in the game linked their world to the game, with the hope of choosing potential candidates who were worthy enough to be transmigrated into their world.

The transmigration had been going on for years now, but the goddesses of the human continent had never done this before because doing this required a really high amount of mana capacity, so this was their first time ever summoning someone into their world.

It turned out that in the hierarchy of the gods, the two goddesses of the human continent were the lowest in this ranking, this showed how weak they were in comparison to other gods.

It also explained why the humans were so weak when compared to other races in the game.

Orion also understood why Anastasia was so upset with Alex's comments.

Although they might be weak, it didn't mean that they took pleasure in seeing the humans who loved and respected them die before their eyes.

However, this begged the question, if the goddesses were the weakest in the ranking of the gods, what exactly happened to the beast gods who were supposed to be stronger than them after the beast continent was subjugated?

The answer was simple: the beast gods no longer existed, and with the demons about to invade the human continent in a few weeks, it was only a matter of time before the two goddesses ended up with a similar fate.

Just like in the beast continent, the demons hoped to adopt the same tactic against the humans as well.

An artifact, provided for the demons by their gods, was used to make everyone in the human continent forget about the deity they served, and this resulted in some negative effects as it weakened them day by day.

Only a select few with a strong devotion to the goddesses still remembered them.

'But what happens when everyone in the human continent doesn't remember the deities they once served?' Orion wondered.

'The balance of power will likely shift towards the demon gods.'

'Their connection to the mortal realm will also be weakened.'

'Without the humans remembering them, they might even lose their divine status in the divine realm and they will slowly fade into obscurity.'

This explained why Anastasia wanted Orion to create a shrine for the two goddesses and pray to it every single day.

Now, it all made sense to him.

Although Anastasia and Astarte were deities with divine powers, with 95% of humanity forgetting their existence, the two goddesses were nothing more than two beautiful women who were scared of vanishing from existence.

But this didn't explain why the demon gods were determined to eliminate the other gods from the divine realm.

This will be a discussion for another time.

In a room, similar to that of Orion's bedroom, his head was safely nestled on Astarte's thighs while she gently stroked his hair with a smile on her face as she watched him sleep.

"Doesn't he look cute while he is asleep?" Astarte asked.

Her hands were still stroking Orion's black hair while she asked this, but her sister's next words brought her attention to Anastasia.

"You seriously need to stop attaching yourself to him."

"Why? Is it wrong for a woman to love her husband?"

"Why do you keep calling him your husband?"

"Oh, you're right. He's our husband," Astarte corrected herself with a giggle.

"Stop saying that. What if he really sees you as his partner?"

Astarte smiled and replied. "Then he has nothing to worry about because I'm ready to be his partner."

"..." Anastasia was rendered speechless. She decided to remain silent because a part of her understood why Astarte might be a bit too clingy at the thought of having Orion as her partner.

They both knew that it was only a matter of time before they met a fate similar to that of the beast gods, so it wouldn't be out of the question for Astarte to feel curious about the concept of love.

After all, she was the goddess of love.

Anastasia knew Astarte had also been intrigued by how the humans fell in love with one another. She knew a part of Astarte yearned to be loved by someone as well, and because her final moments were drawing closer, her desire to experience love might have escalated as well.

'But, is this really the right choice?'

'Won't the both of them fall into despair if they eventually fall in love with one another, only to be disappointed in the end,' Anastasia thought to herself.

Astarte had long waist-length pink hair with rose quartz eyes, and unlike Anastasia who had the appearance of an eighteen-year-old and the body of a woman in her early twenties, Astarte had a more mature body and appearance.

Her breasts and thighs were way bigger than that of Anastasia's as well.

The way she spoke also showed that she was older than Anastasia, but that didn't stop her from teasing her sister whenever she got the chance.

"So, what about you?" Astarte asked.

"What?"

"How do you feel about him? You like him too, don't you?"

"What?!! W-why would you say such a thing? I- I don't like him."

"Really? Is that the truth?" Astarte teased with a smirk.

"I-I don't know," Anastasia turned around, hiding her pink cheeks from her sister.

Everyone knew that the humans created in the world Orion came from were handsome compared to the ones created in their world.

After all, the humans in their world were inspired by the humans from Earth.
