Chapter 27 - Main Story Prelude PART4

"Seung-hwan."

I called after him, who had been focused on eating for a while.

"Why?"

Still in a bad mood, he replied irritably, and I looked at him and said.

"When you're done, I need you to talk to me for a minute."

He shrugged his shoulders after he heard my request.

"Are you sure you don't mind? Aren't you pushing yourself too hard?"

Of course, the outcome was obvious, but I was a man, after all.

Icouldn't back down like this, even if it was because of my stubbornness, so I spoke up to Seung-hwan.

"There's something I want to check, please."

Seeing my willingness, he shrugged hisshoulders again and said.

"Okay."

We finished our meals and turned to face each other.

"You ready?"

Seung-hwan asked me as he lit a cigarette that was just beginning to burn, his rifle slung over his shoulder, and Iwordlessly took up a stance, gripping the bayonet in both hands.

"Whoa...."

He spat out a mouthful of nicotine and took another drag from his cigarette before taking a stance behind the door. Strong flesh began to emanate from his posture, and it began to overwhelm and crush my instincts. It was the moment when my body began to backpedal against my will.

"Huff!"

The creature let out a short, ragged grunt and plunged into me, bayonet in hand.

"Ugh..

Just as the butt of the rifle was about to touch my temple, I quickly twisted to avoid it.

"Hmm?"

He glared at me, shaking his head as his blow failed to land, and I glared back at him as I readjusted my stance.

"Grin"

"Grin"

Once we were back in position and facing each other, we threw arsenic at each other, and the moment it disappeared from the corners of Seung-hwan's and my mouths, we lunged at each other again.

"Puff!"

"Huff!"

Seung-hwan read my movements without missing a beat and began to furiously attack me like a bulldozer with the power to sweep away everything in his path without a trace.

I could barely parry his attacks, hoping to land a single shot.

Finally, my chance came. In one sweeping motion, the creature that was attacking me bayonet at me, and I quickly twisted and

dodged it. The bayonet hovered in the air, I quickly grabbed the barrel of the gun and threw my body into the air.

"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Just as my left foot was about to land on Seung-hwan's temple, I heard a gunshot from somewhere. I heard a series of gunshots.

"What?"

Seung-hwan and I stopped what we were doing and hurriedly headed in the direction of the gunshots.

"I think it's better if we just ignore it."

Seung -hwan pointed at the direction of the gunshots, but I didn't even pay attention. When I didn't respond, he got nervous and popped a cigarette into his mouth.

"Let's just pretend it didn't happen. It happens all the time in war zones, and besides, they're American soldiers, and it's not

like we're going to get any good looks for messing with them."

Of course, he wasn't wrong. But even that seemed to be easily rejected in the face of the disgusting, cruel tricks of fate.

"Bro!"

Seung-hwan called out to me as I turned to head toward where the gunshots had come from.
