"Dear players!" The enigmatic individual boomed as he floated into the sky. He had no face which was replaced by pitch blackness and a mix of golden and red eyes.
'A type 3 civilization artificial intelligence? At least they weren't that lazy. But something that is off is that this world has a core meaniytgis world isn't digital but an assimilation from a regular fantasy world.'
Andrew thought as he saw the hovering individual. He commended their efforts as they were a type 0.06 civilization according to evolution.
With the difference, such a being from a much more developed time could be classified as a god to them.
'It's amusing. That there are people who think that they are gods but the bar is so high that they couldn't even comprehend.'
He thought as he looked around. He not only saw through the AI and dismissed it as looking around.
'Actually, that is a good idea.' He thought.
"It is my absolute pleasure to announce that all of you have been chosen to play a game which results in profits for you!"
"This game you will all play with or without your consent is expected as you have an objective of leveling up and getting stronger."
"For you to level up,you have to successfully complete missions, hunting monsters and killing players legally in tournaments or illegally by casually killing them gaining their experience by half and their items and possibly one of their skills."
"An example, you may demand." He stretched out his hand only to make a snap.
*Snap*
"Ahhh!" A random person suddenly burst like a bubble resulting to their death as a golden light wrapped around them before disappearing.
A screen appeared showing where he went,he was suspended in a dark void before he reappeared back on the same spot where he was.
"What??!!" He gasped as he clutched onto his chest.
"I may have forgotten to remove the pain feature, sorry but that is just about it."
Everyone grew wary of the robed individual as they didn't expect that he would be so powerful. "The way you play is upto your liking."
He grew massive golden wings which seemed extremely soft and comforting. It was evident that he was about to leave.
"Oh! Wait. Should you meet other players from another world, you should kill them as they will not hesitate to kill you."
"Do know that all of you have been separated into different starting worlds of upto ten different places. The more powerful you will be,the more powerful areas you will unlock and then you will meet other players such as yourself."
"However, you can leave to said areas now should you like however the probability of you surviving are low and the penalty for dying in high level areas is quite high."
"You can also find equipment for you to help you with your journey. Though all of you may have received some but they won't help you for long."
"Consider it as a friendly game. Well that should cover it." He said as he flew off, disappearing into the sky before being swallowed by the clouds.
A lot of people were stupefied with this introduction but Andrew brushes it off.
[{Andrew:Come on.}]
He sent a message to her through the system. She tailed him as they made their way towards a shop. People didn't notice their exit as they started to think what they were being thrown into.
Andrew and Yvette walked into a blacksmith shop, looking around, she was amazed by the huge variation of display of weapon ranging from all sorts.
They went upfront where a human, large in stature was busy refining a sword looked at the two. He bug, hairy and burly but Andrew knew that he was extremely skilled adorned in ragged brown peasant clothing. He went along, focusing on his sword as he treated the two as if they weren't there.
"Just act normal." Andrew said. "As you wish." The man responded in a deep and grim voice.
She was stunned, unaware that he could issue orders to the Npcs present. It was true that he could do so,it was just that not all of them could succumb to his orders. Such Npcs were those who had a higher social status.
"Hand over your sword." He said as he stretched out his hand. She instantly summoned her sword with a matter of a thought and appeared in her hand.
She gave it to him to which he inspected it before applying pressure to the blade of the sword.
*Snap*
To her surprise, the blade snapped in half equivalent to a fragile twig. "Ohh!" She was startled seeing this. The fragments fell to the floor but he has a look of disdain as he nonchalantly dropped the hilt in disdain.
"Can you give me the best weapon you've got?" He demanded. The blacksmith who had gone back to polishing the blade suddenly took interest in them.
"We have a wide selection of weapons for you to choose from." He said proudly as the weapons which were on display dimly lit up. They all had different kinds of glow, some were white{Common},blue{Uncommon},orange{Rare}, purple{Epic} and only one was golden {Legendary}.
They had all kinds of rarity with them however he knew from his data that the golden was the best choice but there was a problem.
It wasn't a sword but rather a shield that was in display. "I'll take that sword." He said as he pointed towards a sword that was in epic. "Very fine choice. That will cost you 10,000 heloid coins."
The in-game currency of this world was heloid,it was similar to gold coins but with a few differences with one major difference was that it was unrealistic impossible to shatter. But it's still had that golden luster of gold.
'What!!' Yvette thought. Looking at her interface, she saw that she didn't have a single dime in her account and now they were demanded to buy something so demanding.
"Very well." He said as he took a small bag. The blacksmith inspected it before he put it away. He put on a smile as he retrieved the sword and handed it to him. "It truly is a pleasure dealing business with you. Hope you come back soon."
The blacksmith said as they left the shop. He gave the sword to her despite the huge difference in levels. She was still level one and yet she already had an epic weapon. It wasn't a hindrance that her level was so low but she didn't know any moves she could do and for that she would need training.
After that, they went to a tailor shop where he bought her the best clothing that was available for offense and defense. It was majestic blue garments having the air if a noble however her demeanor was lacking.
"Okay, there should be some monsters to hunt out of town. But we should first take a mission chart for that." He said as they walked towards a small bulletin board that was on the outskirts of town. He took it and off they went.
She had questions as to how he was so rich. 'Maybe he owns this whole system and this world as a whole. So things like this shouldn't be a problem for him.' She thought as they went further out into the open.
They came across a wide open field where small creatures were present, they were feasting on a mature brown wounded deer that seemed to be in distress. It was clear that the deer was going to die as it had numerous holes on it's body which blood flowed out continuously.
These creatures were in huge numbers of upto twenty in comparison to the two of them. They had a short stature, green skin and ragged clothing which was in a terrible condition. They had sharp teeth and resembled goblins as they didn't pay attention to the two.
It was clear that one deer wasn't going to sate them all as it was quickly finished. They looked around and saw the two making quick movements towards them as if driven by the madness of food and hunger.
She was startled at this sight but she mustered courage and stood alongside Andrew. "AAARRGHH!!!!" They charged ferociously at them and she withdrew her sword.
"I'll help with some." He said as he walked away from her and a bit further away to which some changed course for him. Ten for him and ten for her to which he brandished his sword. 'It has been a while.' He thought as he held onto it. It was a sword of a rare type with a faint orange glow.
As soon they approached him,he didn't hesitate and his movement quickly became blurs as his sword quickly sliced and diced the goblins and in a few seconds, the were all dead.
She looked in bewilderment as she saw the hoarde coming towards her. She took deep breathes as she tried to imitate his actions however they were slow, forceful and at times clunky,it was clear that she wasn't accustomed to a sword.
Some of the goblins due to Andrew's slaughter refrained from attacking him and went for her as she seemed more defenceless. She received damage from the goblins as she took dealt damage to them, killing some in the process. Thanks to her clothing, her defence was good but it's strength showed signs of deteriorating.
It was clear that she had to kill them quickly or her new clothes would be torn completely. Something that took her by surprise was that despite the relentless attacks of the crude goblins, she didn't receive any damage whatsoever.
...
*Swish*
"Argghh!!" The last goblin cried out as it drew it's last breathe.
[{The quest of dealing with the goblins outside of the village has been successfully accomplished.}]
[{No experience points gained}]
[{50 heloid coins earned}]
'What!!'She couldn't fathom as to why she didn't get any experience points whatsoever. 'Is it glitched or something or is he playing a prank on me?' She thought.
"Your connection to the abyss has entangled you with the origin of nothingness and nothing can earn exp,now can it. It also explains why you didn't get injured." He cleared things up of her as he leaned on his sword that was implanted into the ground.
'However,Ashley can level up.' He thought as he could see her progress. She seemed more thrilled to become stronger and had already done this mission.
"It would seem that you need to learn on how to use a sword first. So it would be better if you looked into the town, there should be a trainer in the village."
A small map appeared in her mind, coupled to the system which showed exactly where everything is but nothing else beyond the town. It was covered by a hazy fog.
She was disappointed as her new clothes were on the verge of tearing off and she was exhausted. Her clothes were in bad shape but a notification popped up.
[{Repair your clothes for 50 heloid coins?}]
She was at a dilemma. She couldn't walk in the public with such tatters but that 50 heloid coins was the only money she had.
[{Request accepted. Repairing your clothing...}]
She was shocked as she knew that she didn't accept that request. "To save you the trouble. It's almost time to leave anyway." He said as they made their way back to the edge of the town. They stood right at the bulletin board to which some players had started to accumulate.
"Are those other players?!" One exclaimed resulting with them gaining attention of the crowd. They were all shocked that someone could afford to buy something so early as they too had tried but seeing how exorbitant the prices were, they gave up.
Seeing the crowd, the two instantly logged out as they didn't have the strength to deal with them all. Yvette opened her eyes to see her room which remained unchanged.
She got if the bed and realized that she felt exhausted, not sweaty just drained completely. She changed her clothes and soon enough, she was on a flight back to America to which she slept through it all.
