Every one was startled expecting for Andrew to take his initial forceful advance on his opponents however something seemed off.
Even after the declaration of the referee,he still remained rooted in his position as his hands were locked with Yvette. 'Come on,kid. I have a lot on this match alone.' Dirk thought as e saw Andrew standing with no intention of moving.
Andrew looked at the lady who had clung to him however he didn't seem bothered and actually asked Yvette a question. "Would you like to work for me?" Unaffected by the mood of the arena.
"What?" She wondered however Andrew took the time to caress her skin. Fine chocolate brown at the age of twenty one,as if laced with a trace of gold making it shine however under the hotchpotch of frenzy of lights,it was hard to see.
"How about this? We make a bet,if I win, you'll serve under me but if you win, then I'll clear all fo your troubles and help you mastering your skill." Like a devil offering her a tempting deal, she hesitated for a minute.
"Excuse me but this is an arena, not some couple therapy session!" One of the opponents fired. Looking at him,he seemed hot headed and has a lot of experience with this scenario.
*Splat*
His body along with that of his comrade burst like a balloon sending pieces of body bits splattering all over the floor, blood spilling out to the audience however that headed towards Andrew simply halted in front of him equivalent to hitting a wall before falling to the ground.
He never glanced at the guy talking as he maintained eye contact with Yvette. "So do you agree to my little wager?" He asked softly taking her by surprise. "Ahh...fine...I guess however what exactly do you mean by serving under you?"
She inquired curious what he meant. He leaned in closer to his ear and whispered into her ear making her change facial expressions. "What!! There's absolutely no-" Andrew used his fingers to seal her lips.
"Yvette, looking at your life, you don't have that much of a choice and this window won't last long just so you know. I'll expect your answer when you're ready." He said calmly as they headed back to the hub.Yvette took a moment to think because she knew exactly what he meant.
And she hated that he was right. 'Maybe I should just accept it but...' The concept of being used like a doll didn't sit well with her but what would it mean if she refused. Her brother would die,the debt would remain and the money from this event, she doubted whether it was even real.
In other words she was screwed either. Come on,the two of you." A guard signalled the two to follow them to which they did. They entered another room which upon entry wasn't that filled consisting of ten people.
The guard seemed to leave the moment the two walked in. Yvette looking at an individual she loathed, she couldn't hold back. "You absolute snake!!" She cursed however Dirk had a sadistic smile on his face.
The others in the room looked at the two, specifically Andrew as he was more adapted to their situation. "Look. Andrew,I don't know what made you like this but keep it up however it would seem that she's slowing you down." Dirk said indicating at Yvette.
Dirk then brandished a gun,by the looks of it,it seemed legal,a nine millimeter and aimed it at Yvette. "But for the grander schemes, she'll only slow you down so I'll do you and me a favor and kill this bitch." He said as he corked his gun however he could feel a force making him lower his gun.
"She's important. I kill and you make money, however if you want to live after this,I want you to keep that magazine completely full. Not a single bullet shot and I'll spare your life." Andrew said with his hands pocketed.
"You...kill me..." Dirk stated as a smile appeared on his face. "Hahaha!!!" Everyone present in the room broke down into roaring laughter. "Kid. Even of you manage to kill me,do you think anybody here is going to let you walk away?" Dirk stated as his grin got bigger. "But who cares? Just keep doing what you do and you just might survive."
He said and the duo then left the room heading back to the hub led by the guard. The two mistakenly seemed like a couple with their hands locked. "I accept your deal." Yvette suddenly spoke up. She realized that she was doomed either way so why not take a safer route.
Should she deny,he could even chose to not protect her during battles or should she win, it's improbable that she walk away unharmed let alone with the money in the hands with these despicable men.
She could feel the leeching and apparent gazes casted at her body so it was only reasonable to make this option. Even though her current clothes hid her body making it seem average or not as appealing, she knew that she was cursed with a beautiful body.
The only problem she thought was what if he was forced to give her away? Would he do it or... As they sat down, she could definitely feel more gazes casted at their direction however she ignored them and schooch closer to Andrew. That calming sense of security seemed to plague her and make her addicted and longing for it.
...
From them on,any fights against Andrew would end even before the match was barely announced that it had started making them lackluster and frightening. Regardless of what abilities his opponents had, they would die the second the bell rang with their bodies splattering all over the floor making it a one sided battle that barely lasted for no longer than a minute.
"Seriously Dirk, where did you find that kid?" Other gamblers would frequently ask Dirk to which he remained adamant with his answer. So far no one was wrapping fights faster than him as his opponents would die even before they made their first step showing how dominant and aggressive he was.
This resulted with some of the competitors to commit suicide even before the fight started. Yet despite all the bloodshed and horror as human bodies twisted and mangled into weird and uncanny ways, Yvette seemed unrealistically calm adapting to the scenario.
Of course some had tried to target her however they died even before they made their first step to it never worked. Firing projectiles was also pointless as he would redirect them back to the sender with ten times the speed making it nearly impossible to dodge.
Some would end up dying or near a half dead star making them unable to progress with the match and this was how the trend was. Other competitors gave the audience a breathe of fresh air due to the tense atmosphere however with Andrew,it was stale as he committed one sided slaughter within seconds.
Some started to actually fear him as an average amount of people placed their bets on him however the amounts weren't high as for that, they would need to have personal request from the 'gambler' to be registered by the organization to earn some meaningful cash so any bets weren't really guaranteed but the results never changed.
With him absolutely destroying his competition. "Hey Dirk,it would seem that your person attracted unwanted attention." Recce indicated as a body guard indicated for him to follow him.
Dirk followed him and unlike the one prior who had a punk outfit, this one was more sharply dressed and wearing a white stripped suit, dark shades, white shirt and an exposed upper chest area.
Dirk noticed how the environment had changed from a slightly dilapidated thematic to a more sleek and expensive look all around. He entered into a specific room before he faced three people who were pulling the strings.
Three males were seating in a semicircular black table. By looks alone,it was clear that they had some kind of power or authority over this domain. "Take a seat." One of them signified.
A comfortable black leather chair was present for Dirk and he sat down, due to fear of offending these three monsters. "We are proud to tell you congratulations on your horse and we would actually like to see him make a return back here."
One on the left congratulated him. That's right,in the later parts of the game, should a high opponent fight an equal opponent and cause a lot of traction with the people, that person won't be killed and be reused once more to help encourage people to come back.
"However,it would seem that your horse is attracting a little too much attention and some of our clients aren't exactly pleased with this,so all you have to do is make an accident." The one to the right spoke.
They all had a layer of mystery around them all donned with pitch black suits with the only thing visible being their faces and in the barely light room,it was hard to see that as well.
"I understand." Dirk said as he gritted his teeth. "Actually a personal client would like to get him off your hands at a handsome price." A guard walked into the room and presented some documents and a pen. It was clear that this wasn't negotiable which made a sullen expression appear on his face.
He had no choice but to sign it regardless and after he was done,he asked,"What about the girl?" Sure it wasn't a complete waste of talent to slip through his hands as he had gotten a huge amount of money off it transferred to his account.
"She'll be disposed off." A voice rang in the air. "Well that will complicate things as he seems attached to her. Not to mention that he already has a relationship with another lady."
The three didn't seem flustered. "That is upto our client to choose. That will be all. However since you have no more contacts with Andrew, all the money that you had on him will be directly transfered to our client, thank you for your service." Dirk was perplexed.
This was straight robbery however he too gained a lot from this. Not to mention it wasn't like he could refuse the offer so complaining could only make things worse. "Very well." He said before he walked out of the door and back to his room.
"Our beloved crowds and participants,as we draw to the end of our honest and transparent sport, we've all seen all kinds of shows, some of them were intense while others were a complete massacre. So to add to a twist to things, all the competitors will face against each other at the same time!!"
The commentator boomed through the speakers. "Ahhh!!!" This seemed to fuel the anticipation of the crowd as they waited ever so eagerly for it. However who had brains could rack up why such a move was made.
"Are they so afraid of a kid winning that they'd do something like this?" Reece speculated as a small laughter escaped his lips. "Well when it comes to gambling,no one likes to be on the losing end." Dirk said as he observed the arena flood with the remaining opponents.
Once everyone was in,the commentator was a little bit hesitant to declare the start to the round however he had to do so regardless. "Let the match begin!" He said fearfully.
...
The bloody and grotesque scene that everyone was waiting for never arrived making everyone wonder why they weren't dead.'Maybe it has a limited number of people he could enact it on.' Some of them thought however this wasn't the case.
He could have killed every single one of them however it would be anticlimactic for his taste. But he knew that everyone would target him first since he was seen as the most deadliest and cruel with a walking weakness. Yvette.
So he had to make sure that everyone was alive, just that they didn't bother to attack him or his servant. How exactly? He raised his hand and everyone seeing this immediately threw all kinds of projectiles at him to prevent him from snapping his fingers cause they knew the fate that awaited them should he do so.
