Andrew is seated on the living room while the food is already done waiting on the dining table. He looked outside through the window and noticed that the sun had already set. 'In this world, she works at a restaurant unlike before as a reporter.' He said as he started to pull out his phone. He had a pastime of reading novels but after his life took such an unexpected turn,he lost this merit in his life. Scrolling down till he found an app for novels only to be bombarded with glamorous looking novels. Some spoke of how protagonists rose to power while others about villains as they manipulated the heroines. Looking at it closer, he now fully realized it.
The principles that he had, every single one of these so called people sought for power either due to fear or hedonism which meant that the outcome was already certain. Any powerful beings should he meet in the future wouldn't be a problem.
He appeared in his mental state or at least what was left of it. It was only a static white void but now he didn't have those threads all over him. It was only a plane of absolute whiteness and He stood in the middle of it all. Here the two principles manifested themselves and Hedonism spoke up,"Let's try to simulate a fight to further help you understand the basis." A regular humanoid shape appeared but his face was blank with a similar body frame similar to Andrew. "From your abilities alone, you depend more on losing than winning and that is what shocks me about you. Your skill Fanfiction can erase anything but what you do is simply bring an opponent down to your level no wonder your physical body is weak." Fear said.
Andrew looked at the dummy, "We're on the same level physically but I can cheat using Overwrite and improve any status including physical prowress to any level." The two robed individuals hovered above him. "Well this is how it will come into play. For a powerful being, the very fact that they are powerful would mean that they had motives and relating it to one of us won't be a problem." Fear said further adding,"But the tricky part is meeting beings that are already powerful but it won't be hard. Should they want to kill you, that would mean they have motives, moralbound or not."
"So in order for them to be clear of these two principles, they need to lack a motive to kill me." Hedonism agreed to Andrew's statement. He snapped his fingers creating a condition using his Overwrite skill. "That's quite clever." Fear commented. Andrew had instituted a law that should a situation ever arise, the opponent lacking a motive would automatically go insane cause only insane people do things with no purpose. But his insanity was full blown. "What if they still yearn to kill you even in that psychopathic state?" Andrew simply replied ,"That's why I have Overwrite and Fanfiction. I can simply erase their abilities or make them docile."
"How about a being that upon it's death can restart that world that it's in?" Andrew chuckled. "For it to further continue to exist would mean that there is a motive behind it." The agreed that made sense. "The very struggle to avoid death is due to Fear of it or the Hedonism of living. Basically a win-win situation for me all the same."
*Tap-Tap*
Andrew opened his eyes to notice his mother taping on his shoulder. "Wake up sleepyhead, the food is getting cold." He walked towards the dinner table along with her mother. She appeared the same just like the previous world. "How do you feel about finishing school? Is it exciting?" She asked with a smile on her face. "Very exhilarating." He said dully. She assessed him. "I can't believe that you still don't have a friend or at least an acquaintance for you to relate to." Andrew continued to take his bites,"They're all stupid and blank. It would be a complete waste of time." In between his pauses. "About the retreat,so I've already arranged that you will be going." Andrew paused, looked at her ,'You're trying to make me interact with others because that is one of society's unwritten laws. Mutual interaction for benefits. Hedonism. But she's oblivious what the cost will be. Telling her that I don't want to will only be a waste of my time as she will simply stand her decision and I'm too tired to do anything right now.'
He finished his meal before standing up, clearing the table and taking it to the kitchen. "That was a delicious meal. Thank you Andrew." She thanked him as he made his way towards his room. In his bed, he blankly looked at the ceiling wondering what would transcend at the retreat. Apparently it would last for about 3 days but as for gifting the money to his mother he decided that he would put it on hold for now. He closed his eyes then fastly fell asleep. The following day with a thought,he packed all of his clothes and took the bag downstairs which unlike supper,he willed his breakfast before leaving.
His mother had already left for work so she wasn't there to bid him goodbye. A blue electric bus pulled up to which he boarded, those present looked at him with disgust but he didn't have the time for them so he made his way all to the back of the bus. He put his luggage on a rack right above him and stared blankly outside at the peaceful scenery. 'Maybe a virus of a zombie outbreak.' He thought. Well numerous thoughts crossed his mind as the city vibrance started to fade off as numerous trees started to appear. He looked at it all, absorbing it all in as the bus came to a stop. "We're here students." Grace said in a motherly voice.
"It is quite tragic of what happened to Arnold but we hope that he will get well soon." But let us not allow this dampen our mood and try to have some fun." She said as she alighted the bus. The students all followed and now they stood in front of three cabins. There was a stage as another bus also pulled up. 'I forgot that there were two classes.' Andrew said in his head. The students that recently arrived mingled with Andrew's group and the teacher of that bus also went on the stage. On the stage were a total of three individuals, two male and one female. One of the male was with the other batch of students, Damon, while the female was Grace, Andrew's teacher.
The rest of the students knew the two but didn't know the third standing behind the two teachers. Grace tok the initiative ,"Welcome students to your retreat. Consider it a treat for your accomplishment of your studies so unwind and relax while you're here. Get yourself familiar with the place for today but we'll start some fun activities tommorow. And you already know me and Mr.Damon so I'll introduce our mysterious third counsellor." She intentionally refrained from saying his name to build up suspense but the students weren't that excited. He had a huge frame,a cold gaze behind his secretary framed glasses and adorned similar to Grace and Damon,a green trooper uniform similar to a ranger found in outposts. He cleared his voice as his voice boomed ,"Welcome students to my post. My name is Mr.Henford and a father to one of these students present. If you have any problem please do not hesitate to address the issue to me or your teachers. Have a great time."
'He looks like he belongs in an office rather than the great outdoors.' Andrew thought. After that they were dismissed off to their cabins where they were separated into two with respect to their gender and the girls cabin somehow closer to the counsellor's cabin while the boys was farther out but not by a huge extent. They all unloaded their stuff and interacted with each other after that. Andrew simply fell asleep to pass time.
*In the static white void*
Andrew was standing with his hands pocketed looking at the faceless counterpart. After figuring out what the two were trying to tell him,he decided for a more practical approach. "Come at me." The counterpart simply vanished from sight. "This isn't going to help. You have to be in an actual fight for this." Hedonism said floating above him with Fear absent. "So what you want me to do is go into an actual fight. Fine." He woke up,made a clone of himself before teleporting to a random world. 'A qi world.' He mused. He scowered finding the closest human civilization and after five minutes,he found a sect seemingly on the outcast. He looked at the banner at the front of the sect. 'Drunken Locust Sect. Weird name but okay.'
He had to change to this world's form of clothing into pale black robes,a regular face and his casual no aura with him. After five seconds,a sword was aimed directly aimed at his eye. Looking at the assailant,it seemed like the guardian of the sect. "State your business." He said coldly with a bloodlust aura around him. "I want a fight. Anyone will do." The guardian looked down at him. 'A person with no dantian wants a fight. How low does he think the Drunken Locust Sect is?' "I'll fight you." Andrew simply nodded and walked back out indicating that he should follow. 'Maybe he's luring me into a trap.'
"I assure you that this isn't a ploy to kill you and there isn't some hidden assassin waiting for you to make your move." He said flatly as he stood out in the open. "Or would you like to have it within the safety of your sect's walls. " Not taking any risks. "There is a sparring arena so come over." Andrew was led back inside and was taken straight to the arena. "Don't think of any funny ideas, after all there are those stronger than me hidden." He said. A small crowd had started to gather wondering what the spar was about, students of the sect. "What is this fight for?" His question went unanswered. "It would seem that the clan guardian is fighting that individual but who is he, I've never seen him." Many pondered this but they chose to see how it would turn out.
"You ready?" Andrew asked. "Yes." He responded taking a fighting stance while Andrew simply stood as if he was unaware of what was about to transcend. "What is this unorganized fight!!" A voice boomed and as those around looked at the source of the voice instantly gave way. The sect guardian looked at the source and froze momentarily. It was a inner student adorned in red garments,a prideful attitude around him along with his well built body. "Hang Feng, I apologise but this individual asked for a fight and I couldn't refuse." The guardian said. The individual addressed as Hang Feng looked at Andrew. "How sure are you that it's not an assassin sent by the Heavenly Sword Sect?" The guardian was unable to answer that stuttering.
"Look,I just want a fight and I'll be on my way." Hang Feng assessed him and stated ,"A fight? You don't even have a single dantian in your body. It wouldn't be a fight but a complete oppression. You're probably looking for recognition to enter the sect..." Andrew simply spoke up . "A fight, nothing more." Hang Feng irritated that he was interrupted rose to the air making a graceful descent on the arena. The guardian taking this as a sign withdrew back to the crowd. Even he found it weird that a person like him asked for a fight. "Hope you don't die with my first attack. Vermin." He said to which Andrew casually looked at him. "Whenever you're ready." Hang Feng ready to instill a lesson, "Tiger claws of Shadow Fury!!"
