Garette took a moment to collect his thoughts before continuing. "It's about our parents... she asked why she wasn't able to reach them and where they were. I told her they were at a place with no reception in Mongolia, but it's only a matter of time before she figures out it's a lie. What do we do?"
Dominic listened carefully to Garette's words, his expression serious. He had already known that their parents' disappearance was a touchy subject, and he had hoped to keep it from Arette for as long as possible. But now that she was asking questions, he knew the truth would have to come out sooner or later. "That's not good," he muttered, running a hand through his hair.
He sat silent for a few moments, mulling over what to do. "I guess we can try to keep up the lie for now," he said after a while. "I'll figure something out."
