Damien sat behind his mahogany desk, its surface cluttered with paperwork, reflecting his deteriorating financial situation. His assistant, Carlos, stood nervously at the doorway, a thick folder in hand.
Carlos cleared his throat, shifting his weight from one foot to the other. "Damien, we need to talk. There is a problem, and it is urgent."
Damien looked up from his paperwork, his eyes narrowing. "There is always a problem," Damien sighed. "What is it, Carlos? I'm busy."
Carlos stepped forward, placing the folder on the desk. "It's the Salvatore family. They've issued another threat. If we don't pay them back by the end of the month, they promised to come after us. And they don't mean just the business... families are involved too. This is getting out of hand."
Damien's heart sank. He wasn't alone; he had Dyanne to worry about too, and this was a big reason why he couldn't ignore the Salvatores' threats anymore.
