Matthew also informed Dami that the procedure was successful and that Dominic felt she and Garette should be informed. However, he wanted Matthew to lie to them, saying Arette fell down the stairs and lost her memory. Dami concurred, admitting it would be best to tell Garette the stairs version, as the truth would be too much for him to handle.
Dami and Matthew left the academy with the intention of meeting Arette again. When they arrived at Arette's family home, their expressions were dull. Garette met them at the door, his demeanour odd.
"Garette, we need to talk to you about Arette," Dami said, trying to push past him, but he blocked her way.
"Now's not a good time, Dami," Garette said, his voice tense.
Dami frowned, sensing something off. "What do you mean? What's going on? And why are you acting so weird?"
"It's nothing. Just... give me a minute," Garette stammered, glancing nervously inside.
