Garette felt torn. On one hand, he wanted to defend Dyanne and debunk the rumours. But on the other hand, he didn't want to give her false hope that they might get back together. The previous night, she had professed her love to him, making it clear she still had feelings for him. If he kept meddling in her business, she might think he wanted her back.
"Joseph, I want to help her, but I don't want to give her the wrong impression," Garette admitted. "She still loves me, and if I step in too much, she might think I want to get back together."
Joseph nodded understandingly. "I get it, Garette. But maybe there's a way to help without making it seem like you're rekindling things."
